Donghee's usual prideful self seemed to have disappeared with how her heart raced with his lack of reply, nervous of how would Jeno react, doubting whether it was even alright to say it.
He gazed at her meaningfully, an undecipherable emotion showing yet it still worried her how his eye smile lessened, "Do you think you like me because you think you like me, or do you think you like me because you think I like you?"
After recovering from a highly confusing question thrown to her, Donghee couldn't help but process her thoughts, "I..I'm.. I don't know.. The past few days my thoughts.. They were all you..", Donghee softly cites, looking down to her fidgeting fingers, "Seeing Miyeon..I.. I was jealous Blue.. I don't know..", she admits further, not knowing how to answer Jeno's earlier question.
"I hate warm seasons.. but when we started.. I got used to it.."
Jeno's lips tugged to a much-relaxed smile, "We're just 17 shorty, it's ok.."
"And I agreed to wait for you.. Until the end of winter..", Jeno continues, his eye smile completely faltered but still calm, "Because I'm already sure of mine", he ends, reaching to tuck the fallen strand of hair on her face.
She breathed a sigh of relief, using her right hand to fan herself, finding the temperature quite warm.Donghee also pulled herself just close enough for her to calm the still rising beatings of her heart.
She was way too focused on that, she couldn't hear his heart's loud thumping as well.
"Where's our next spot Blue?", she asks, trying to raise the atmosphere that she felt was too serious for them.
"Any apple vendors around here?"
"Apples like the one we brought you?"
Jeno nodded enthusiastically, looking even more adorable in her eyes, "That was good good shorty"
"Ofcourse it is, I bought those!", Donghee happily boasted, leading the way to the stand she and Jisung bought Jeno's favorite fruit.
"Ofcourse it is, you know the way to my heart!", Jeno brightly replied, copying her form of sentence earning a chuckle from the already flustered girl.

The two stayed with each other until the sun has set, their arms found ways to be linked again while they converse various topics that seemed to have no end, from Jeno who shared Mark's game tactics, the first time he got wounded, the time he accidentally called his teacher mom, and Donghee who shared the time Daehyun nearly set himself on fire due to a silly prank the eldest Donghyuck pulled on him, her most embarrassing moment and her great love for strawberries.
"What's the first impression I gave?", Jeno curiously asked, peering his head to her who hummed while thinking.
"I don't know.. but you definitely looked handsome", Donghee answered, remembering the messy red hair Jeno that still looked eye-catching even with casual clothing. "What's yours Blue?"
"You"
"Just kidding shorty", Jeno playfully added seeing Donghee jokingly roll her eyes at him.
"I was honestly weirded out 'cause you kept staring at me"
"Wow..I'm offended", she replies, dramatically wiping a non-existent tear from her eyes while jokingly trying to unlink their arms.
"You're so whipped shorty"
Donghee scoffed, swatting Jeno's hand that slightly messed her hair, "Big words from a guy that was literally speechless with my new hairstyle"
"Facts", Jeno acknowledged as they walk down the mildly crowded streets nearing their neighbourhood and homes.
