Jeno rolled his eyes, checking twice the date his phone flashed,"Check the date dude"
Although it confuses her, Donghee's smile fully shown upon seeing the date, needing to take a short breather by covering her face with her arm, laughing airily as a red tint dusted her cheeks.
"Dude"
"Yeah?"
"You're no fun"
"Says the one speechless by something simple", Jeno humorously replied, turning around to head back to his room only to be stupefied by the grimly standing figure of his father.
"Dating someone already?"
With his mind going to a sudden surprise, the best thing it came up with was to end the call with Donghee.Thinking again of the reminder Mark told him before, much to his surprise even though he questions it why, he still ends up following it.
"No no no dad, it's just this friend of mine..You know Dong..hyuck", he rambles, the name of his mate nearly rolling out.
Thank goodness they're twins.
The elder crossed his arm, squinting his eyes at Jeno's fumbling hands,which the latter immediately hid upon noticing, "A friend?What time is- 3am?"
"Oh you know.. We kinda lost track of time and I was about to tell him that we should.. you know sleep"
"Your mom wouldn't be happy if she's the one who saw you up", the unfitting mention of his deceased mother made Jeno force a laugh as his father sighed deeply, motioning for Jeno to head back to his room.

Her eyes continued to stare at the unprogressing conversation on the lowly lit screen, her smile had faltered as she reread the answer he gave as a reason.Donghee clearly heard the voice of his dad asking if he's dating someone already last before the call ended without notice.
Despite how much she denies it, the simple- situation piqued her curiosity, so her thoughts now overthink about what could be the reason, Jeno's answer, and how the conversation went.
Donghee groans as she dragged her body to move upwards to reach her pillow, finding that sleeping could silence the untamed thoughts and scenes her mind continuously comes up with.
"It's not like his dad can say no to his son having a soulmate"

"Fuck it", she mutters last before letting go of the mobile that was already turned off, letting it drop ever so lightly to her duvet as she covers her eyes with an arm with another sigh.
