Confrontation

I sat at the dining table beside my mate. Across from me was my object of hatred, Namtarn along with Wayo and another boy, whom I am not familiar with.

My eyes are fixed on the she-devil who has a....smile? on her face. She has white unblemished skin while her long black hair falling right below her shoulders. With her perfect model-like body, she could attract many unmated wolves. I hate to admit , but she is pretty.

What baffles me, is her eyes and aura. Her eyes are gray not golden like us wolves and her aura is...just blank? Her scent is also nonexistent. How is that even possible? Usually matured wolves have their own scent more like personal pheromones to detect their mates while a secondary scent will be present to be detected by others. She is lacking both. I remembered Yo mentioning that her mate died a couple of years ago. Maybe this is the effect of losing your mate. I wouldn't know since I haven't met any mateless wolves.

These days there is something new I have been experiencing which I am yet to tell Arthit. I could sense others aura. For eg. my mate is currently glimmering with red which shows passion and strength with an undertone of anger. I see yellow for Yo, while green for the new boy. But this witch gives away nothing. My chagrin raises as she once again smiles at me. There is a gut feeling that whatever you see is just a facade, a show that she is putting on.

Earlier when she was being all over my mate, I have lost control and yelled at her to stay away. For a second, I saw red, and all I wanted to do was to rip her head off. I was struggling to control Lune since she wanted to get out. I could feel my canines piercing through my gums thirsty for blood. A strength, a fury that I have never experienced before enveloped my emotions.

All this time I have forgotten to observe how everyone was staring at me shivering at my oppressive aura flowing in waves making them submit. Even the guards have rushed to our side sensing danger. Fortunately, the devil was too shocked or startled, she stepped back when I took one forward. I would have lost my control if not for my mate.

He pulled my hand back making me turn to look at him. He cupped my cheeks. " Look at me, beautiful.", he whispered.

I raised my eyes and stared at him. "Mine!.", I growled possessively burying my face in to his scent glands.

"Yes, all yours.", he chuckled caressing my head, leaving feather like kisses on my hair. "Now, just focus on me."

His golden gaze with a tinge of red along with his watery smooth voice broke me out of my trance. My reverie passed leaving me embarrassed. I should have had a better control over my emotions. My eyes glazed at the thought that I've brought discomfort to my mate.

"Hey, it's alright. If I were you, I would have done even worse, it's normal to react as you did.", he caressed my cheeks before leaving a lingering peck on my forehead.

P'Arthit lead me to the dining table completely ignoring the girl. The distress that I felt in the room diminished a bit but not completely gone.

I stared at my half-eaten breakfast which consisted of pancakes, fruits, scrambled eggs, and a glass of orange juice. Did I mention that not just my mate but the entire army of kitchen maids made it their daily task to stuff me to the brim. They won't let me go unless I emptied my plate which they kept refilling.

I was brought back from my musings when P'Arthit slightly nudged me and gestured me to complete my food. I weakly smiled at him. All these while, the gray eyes were fixed on our interactions with a smile that never reached her eyes.

"So...who will do the introductions?", Wayo audibly groaned at her venom dripping voice. P'Arthit drank his juice not bothering to acknowledge her question until Yo decided to break the awkward silence.
