#6: Without Reserve

-

The hostages' hands were tied to their backs with cable tape. One of the men looked at Ari as he peered at her body up and down, Ari snickered in disgust as she felt a shiver run down her spine. Furuya noticed the man's gaze and glared at him in fury. (Furuya is in fury.)

They were guided to a storage room at the back in a single line. A man pointed his rifle at them as he hurried their steps, "Stop being so slow. Hurry up and move it!"

Ari peeked through the gap of the closing door as she heard an armed man talking to his partner. "How much is left?" That was what he said.

The said man looked at them, giving out a threat. "Now listen up! Every time one of you makes any noise, we'll kill you off one by one!" He shouted and closed the door shut.

Ari moved her hands that were tied behind her back. She had loosened her hand as she was bounded before, making her escape easier. She leaned her body slightly forward and made fists with her hands. She raised them high above her head, and in a swift movement, she swung her arms down towards the ground while spreading her hands apart.

It caused the cable around her wrists to be torn apart, breaking her free. As she removed the duct tape on her lips, she looked to the side.

She saw Furuya rubbing his shoelaces against Date's restraints, causing it to snap in a while. 'That works too,' She grinned impressed.

Ari then went around and help the others. As she was helping a glassed man, she noticed a familiar person. "Old man Tomori?"

The elder looked at her and beamed, "Oh! Sakurazawa-san, what a surprise."

Ari glanced to the side and saw Furuya checking the door. 'It must have been locked.'

"But what's the culprit aim?" Date asked while untying a woman.

Ari stood up and brushed the dust on her clothes. "It must be the money to restock the ATM," She suggested.

"It's now the time where people usually needed cash, so it won't be surprising that there aren't much less."

Furuya nodded. "For security purposes, no one is told when the ATM gets restocked... but by checking the transaction made at the ATM from its surveillance footage, it can be roughly predicted. If they let their friends continuously take money out when there are less than one million yen left... someone would rush here to restock the ATM from the bank!"

"I see... It's a crime that they can't commit without the clerk as an accomplice." Date said.

"But why aren't they hiding their faces? The clerk wasn't even wearing sunglasses..." He asked.

"They must've planned to kill us when they're done," Ari said. The woman then tore the end of her long skirt and stretched her arms. "Let's just get this done with," She yawned.

On the other hand, the hostages panicked. "N-No way... I just came here to buy some water." The glasseds man said.

Ari then heard Old man Tomori said, "I-I came here to buy snacks for my daughter..."

"Don't worry! We'll do something." Date assured them.

"Anyway, we've got to think of a way to escape from here..." The man trailed.
