The Fortress

Her giving him space and him determined to ignore her, she had not seen him nearby again. Only sometimes she had sneaked around the ship and had watched him for a few moments before he had noticed her presence and glared at her with his killer eyes. But she couldn't wait any longer. Rations would run out soon and she knew no place for them to go except for Agent d'Nur. She despised this idea, but it was their only choice.
He was standing in the command room, bending over some data he was working on. She licked her lips and prepared her words as she stepped out of her corner. He went on reading without so much as looking at her.
"Uh...Slayer? I-I want to talk to you. I mean, we need to talk about something." Her voice was hoarse since she hadn't used it in days. Still no reaction. She swallowed.
"You know, I can't stay here much longer. But... I need to know if..."
She hesitated, her whole body stiffened as she had waited for so long to ask him.
"Is there a way to bring me back home?!" It burst out of her. Now he stopped but didn't look at her yet. This was all the motivation she needed.
"And I don't just mean back to Earth, I mean back to my TIME! Because there is nothing for me here or on Argent d'Nur or Earth, not in this time, not... Please, help me get back!"
Words and tears alike were now bubbling up, everything she had pushed away for months.
"I know you might have other things to do first, maybe save some other civilization, I don't know, I mean I don't even know who told me to do this or why, but I did and now I'm still here and I don't know what to do, so if you tell me there is, then I will get back to the Argenta, even if that means getting their punishment but that's okay, as long as I know if there is a way back or not, I will wait for you and-URGH"

His hand fit all around her throat and her legs dangled in the air as he stared at her with a near perceptible 'shut up'. Tears overflowed when the pressure in her head rose and her eyes rolled back, her hands desperately pulling and pushing on his arm. Even without any power from the piece of Davoth one hand was enough to hold her meagre body, her legs kicking weakly. He pressed harder, and soon her neck would simply snap and it would be over. But in the next second, he choked on his own breath, a piercing pain smothered his lungs and he felt panic and regret drowning his mind.
He pressed even harder, and his pain increased with his grasp. He let go of her as he couldn't hold it any longer, the pain vanished, only a dull pressure remained. Her body hit the floor and she writhed, gasping like a fish to refill her body with air.
Confused he held his throat, stepping away from her. Of course, it would have been too easy that way. He needed another idea of how to get rid of her. He wondered if the same would happen if he threw her outside into space. Or just through a portal into another dimension to let her 'die' there, far away from him.
Would he wake up, if this test was done? Or would everything just start anew with something else to torment him?
