"Are you alright?" (Y/n) asked the little girl, checking her over to make sure she wasn't splinched. "All good?" he asked her, she simply nodded, looking up at his face.
"Good, good." (Y/n) said straightening up and looking around. He knew he would have to move, and soon. If those Death Eaters were searching for him they would quickly find he wasn't hiding in the town and would move to the surrounding woods.
"Do your parents live in that town?" (Y/n) asked her gently. She nodded slowly. "Do you know where they live?"
She looked at him for a second before nodding again. "Do you want to go back and see them?" He asked her, she stood still for a second before slowly shaking her head no.
"Why not shrimp?" He asked her, kneeling down next to her.
She looked at him with large eyes for a second before saying in a meek voice. "Mummy won't wake up." (Y/n) felt his heart break, knowing what she meant by this, her mum was dead.
"What about your daddy?" He asked her. She shook her head at this.
"Daddy's gone, I never knew him." The little girl said quietly.
(Y/n) could feel his heart breaking even more. "What's your name shrimp?" He asked her.
"P..Penelope." She said, large tears welling up in her eyes. "When's mummy waking up?"
(Y/n) pulled her into a tight hug. "I'm sorry Penelope, I don't think your mummy's going to wake up."
"W...why not?" She asked, wiping her eyes on her sleeve.
(Y/n) wasn't quite sure how to explain this to her. "Well... sometimes... people need to go away for a while, and sometimes they don't always come back for a while... but... I'm sure you'll see her again Penelope."
Penelope wrapped her little arms around his neck, her head on his shoulder, tears still rolling down her cheeks.
"It'll be alright shrimp." (Y/n) said picking her up off the ground and carrying her into the tent. Her eyes widened as she saw the interior of the tent.
Treebeard was fast asleep on the table. "Fat lot of good you did." (Y/n) muttered. "Really keeping watch eh."
At this point Penelope had stopped crying, her large eyes darting around the tent so fast, that they looked as though they were rolling around in their sockets.
(Y/n) set her down gently on the lower of the bunk beds, squatting down so he was at eye level with her.
"Pretty amazing right?" He asked her. She nodded eagerly, a look of wonder on her face. "I know it can be amazing what we take for granted." He said thinking about his friends.
"Is this where you live mister?" She asked him curiously.
(Y/n) chuckled. "For now it is, yeah. And you can called me (Y/n)." he said offering her his hand. She looked at it her eyes wide, looking at his wooden prosthetic. "Oh yeah pretty cool right?" He said, taking off his arm and giving it to her examine. "Sit right here for a second Shrimp." He said standing up and walking over to the table.
"Wake up." He said, shaking the table slightly, causing Treebeard to jump up in surprise. He glared at (Y/n) angrily.
"Don't you give me that look you were supposed to be keeping watch!" (Y/n) scowled him, he chittered angrily at him in response.
"Well we're just lucky no one found us... listen." (Y/n) said dropping his voice to a whisper and moving closer to Treebeard. "We need to move and soon, I know you don't want to." He said as Treebeard started to chitter in protest.
