Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first of September was crisp as an apple, and as little families bobbed across the rumbling road toward the great sooty station, the fumes of car exhausts and the breath of pedestrians sparkled like cobwebs in the cold air.

The old, yet artfully restored, Bentley pulled into the crowded parking lot of King's cross station. "Everyone got your stuff?" (Y/n) called from the front seat, his metal arm gleaming in the sun as he turned off the engine.

The two kids in the back nodded, gathering their rucksacks. "Alright then kids let's go." Hermione told them from next to (Y/n).

(Y/n) climbed out of the car, grabbing the two large trunks from the back of the car. "Hey Shrimp!" (Y/n) called to Penelope. "Mind grabbing some trolleys?"

"Sure thing dad." Penelope replied to him, the 25 year old girl said walking off towards the station.

(Y/n) watched as he left, thinking back fourteen years when he and Hermione had seen Penelope off on the train.

"They've grown up so fast." (Y/n) said to Hermione. "I remember when we saw Penelope off, and now look at her."

"Can we go now?" Their son Richard Neville Granger-(L/n) asked impatiently.

"Just you wait Richie, we'll be there soon enough."

"I can't wait!" Exclaimed their daughter Rose Minerva Granger-(L/n), it was her first time going to Hogwarts. Her orange tabby cat meowed from in her arms.

"Here you guys are." Penelope said returning with two trolleys in tow. She helped (Y/n) load the trunks and Richie's owl cage onto the trolley, before walking into the station.

The owl cage rattled from atop the laden cart that (Y/n) pushed, while Penelope pushed Rose's cart through the crowded station. Richie ran ahead of them, shouting back at them occasionally to hurry up, while Rose clutched her mum's hand.

"Wait for the rest of us Richie!" (Y/n) called to his son as they approached the barrier between platform nine and ten.

"Alright Richie you first." Hermione told his son, who took his trolley from his dad, looking around quickly before charging towards the wall, disappearing through it as he hit it.

"Are you ready Rose?" Hermione asked. Rose nodded, grabbing her trolley from Penelope and gripping it tightly.

She took a deep breath, before pushing her trolley with her all her might charging towards the wall disappearing after her brother.

"I'll see the two of you in the other side." Penelope said walking up to the wall, leaning against wall disappearing through it.

"Shall we 'Mione?" (Y/n) asked her talking her hand in his.

"Let's go." She said, and the two of them charged towards the barrier.

"Where are they?" The heard Richie say looking around the station.

"I'm sure they'll be here soon Richie." (Y/n) told him, knowing he was looking for James, and Arthur.

"(Y/n)!" He heard a familiar voice call to him. Through the crowd a redheaded man made his way through the crowd.

"Ron!" (Y/n) cried, hugging him as he reached him.

"How you doing mate?" Ron asked him, pulling Hermione into a hug.

"Ah just the usual locking up people who need to be locked up, and the sorts." (Y/n) told him.

"Hey I heard you caught your uncle a few weeks ago, congrats on that." Ron told him clapping him on the back.
