Ares POV*****

"Zane, ask Mike to take you to get groceries. Ken, call the pack and tell them we are staying a few days with the Luna's family before we go home."

Vida's POV **********

I was so happy to get to spend time with my family before I have to leave and so is Red.

"Vida go get ready we're going fishing." Said Dad.
"Really?" I look to Ares to see if he's as happy about fishing as I am, but his face was cold with no emotion. I guess not."
"Maybe he doesn't like fishing?" Red said as a guess.

"Yes, fishing. I want to get to know your mate and spend time with you before you leave." Said Dad with a roller coaster of emotions in his eyes at once. My big smile is back.

My smile fades when the word "leave" sinks in and I get an uneasy feeling in my gut.

Dad noticed and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear saying, "I know change is scary, but we were expecting this. We knew this day would come. It is sooner than we expected but remember you're not alone My Gift. My beautiful strong pup."

I smile at Dad's supportive words. Hugging him tight in response. He cradles me in his arms sniffing my scent. I do the same taking in his masculine scent that comforts me like no other. I pull away with a smile dashing to my room to get ready for fishing.

I put on a pair of cutoff jean shorts, an old Metallica And Justice For All, t-shirt and my old last year's Nike's. I pulled my hair up in a ponytail. I looked in the mirror to dig out any eye boogies and thought, I'm not a very feminine girl. I hope Ares isn't disappointed in me. I have no idea how mates are supposed to act or be with each other.

"We didn't bother to ask Ares if he liked fishing. I hope he does." Red said with worry.

"I don't know Red. He's a guy don't guys like to fish, hunt and stuff like that? He is an alpha wolf, wolves hunt?"

"I hope so. Meeting our mate this young kind of sucks." Red quipped.

Surprised by her "What do you mean? I thought you would be so happy to find our mate so soon?"

"Well, yea but not this early. I can't feel his emotions or his wolf's. I can only feel yours. We are just starting our bond; just starting to trust and form our connection." If any wolf doesn't form a strong bond with their wolf, they are more likely to go rogue. In our case, Red and I are a higher risk.
"I know Red. We are going to have to make the best of it. There must be a reason why the Moon Goddess had us meet so early. We will get to live with his pack! So many new wolves!" I say excited to finally learn what it is like to live with all the other wolves in a pack and not secluded.

"I'm afraid it has something to do with hunters." Red warns.

"I know what it means." I say very low voice. I didn't want to admit it. "Let's think about that later. Today maybe the last day we get to go fishing with the family and I'm having fun!" I say changing the subject and getting rid of our sad mood.
"You're right. After you catch a few can I go fishing too."

I giggle, "Yes we can shift, and you can fish." Giggling
"What's so funny?"
I giggle, "You," giggles "it's funny to see a powerful wolf diving for fish in the pond." More giggles.
"What? You fish your way and I fish mine." I giggle at Red more she huffs in retort, and I giggle all the way to the front porch.

When I walk out everyone was busy packing up food and supplies. Everyone except Ares. He was leaning against the magnolia tree with a blank look on his face with a cold gleam in his eyes. "Red we have to watch Ares. What do we know about him? I can't remember having an actual conversation with him. He could be some power-hungry nut job that keeps us in chains in a dungeon torturing us with silver."
