Chapter 9 Alpha's Don't Apologize

Vida's POV Cont......

In a matter of seconds, a big black wolf with black eyes pounces on me. It was Jax, Ares wolfen soul. The big oaf licks my eyes, my snout, my whole face was covered in slobber. Then the beautiful black wolf transformed into a very muscular, very naked, and vary angry Ares scowling at me.

"Vida!" Ares shouts: "I don't know what the hell you think you are doing out her in the woods for hours! I have been looking for you for hours! Jax was so worried he took over!" Ares yells pacing from left to right. "Is this what I have to look forward to? You, acting like a little girl running off to play with dogs!"..........

Ares POV *******

Three hours prior........

Knock! Knock!

"Come in." said Ares working on the new updated treaty with the Lupus Floridanus Pack. Alpha Dan and I do not know each other very well, but he is my mate's father. He is a well-respected among other Alpha's. His pack is small but his warriors are often asked for assistance in training. The Lupus Floridanus Pack was known for their fighting techniques in hand-to-hand combat and wolf to wolf combat. Many other alpha's can't measure up to his strength. No one dare challenge him for his pack. He is a good ally to have.

"Alpha the Luna did not come down to eat this morning for breakfast. Would you like me to send my mate to see about her?" said my beta Zane.

He found his mate years ago, but they have still not mated. I don't know how they do it. I have to wait 8 months. I'm already about to blow but, they seem okay with waiting.

"Waiting sucks." mumbled Jax.

"That's a good idea. Have Misty take her shopping or something girls do together. I think it will be good for her to get out of the pack house. I want 4 of our strongest warriors going with them." I command.

"Yes Alpha!" said Zane as he ducks out of my office.

I dive back into my pile of boring paperwork, but not for long. My big wooden office doors slam open, BAM! I stand with my fangs on full display, alert at the sudden intrusion, ready to pounce.

Zane is frantic, his face is pale white, his breathing is labored, he has fear in his eyes. Fear? What is he afraid of?

"Al-Alpha! The Luna isn't in your room! We cannot find her anywhere in the pack house!" said Zane with fear in his voice.

"I will track her! You are in charge until I get back!" I growl with Jax making his presence known. I dash out of my office in a flash with my nose in the air, in search for Vida. I run to Vida's bedroom door and inhale deeply. I think this will be the best place to start.

"I've got her sent, let me take over we will find her faster." said Jax thick with worry. I agree. I shift right in the hall, where I stand ripping my clothes. I didn't give it a second thought, my mate is all that matters. Jax follows her scent trail through the back of the house into the vast hills of thick forest. The brush and trees are too thick to see very far so we are relying on our sense of smell. If she were older our bond would be all I would need to find her but, again I have to wait for that as well.

We have been tracking her for hours and haven't found her yet! "We're going in circles!" Growls Jax in frustration.

"Yes we are. Do you think someone did this to throw us off her trail?" I say. Jax didn't reply he just whimpered and began searching franticly, pushing himself to move faster taking over fully. After another hour of searching in sheer panic Jax an I hear puppy yips, barks, with growls?
