Jessica's P.O.V.
Great. It was my first day of school and here I was, digging up graves for the extra vampires to sleep in. Detention sucks. Sadly, so did the vampires. They were eating live cows and pigs like they had never eaten before. I thought Ms. Eldridge was going to teach me about how to be normal!
All off a sudden, when I was digging up a grave for a particularly large person, the cross necklace I always wear started burning, and my head started to swarm. I leaned against a gravestone, and felt a searing pain in my shoulder. I turned around. It was a demon who touched my shoulder. I couldn't see him well. Everything was a little blurry.
"Oh, sorry 'bout that. Im Damon." He reached his hand out towards mine, but I didn't take it. "Oh, I forgot. I'm too hot for you."
The pain in my head adjusted, and my necklace cooled down. Everything came in focus and man, he was right. He WAS too hot for me! Did I really just think that?
This idiot, cute as he was, continued talking, with a smirk on his face.
"I see the goodytwoshoes managed to land herself a detention on her first night! Or ARE you good? Did daddy kick you out for saying darn? Thats what you get for hanging out with those dweebs!" Damon laughed, although he wasn't making much sense.
" And I wonder why Damon was kicked out by HIS daddy! Was someone too good for him? What did you do, huh? Spill salt all over Lucifer?"
I cracked him. His eyes became A blood red, and he pushed me into a gravestone. "Don't EVER talk about that place, believe it or not, I'm demon enough to kill, and you have no idea what happens there in that hell hole!"
"Oh really? Do you wanna know whose been risking their LIFE to save people in there? I've seen things, horrible things that I wish I never saw. I went back there, though, because humans were still being tortured. Tortured by YOU GUYS!" My glow turned red. Anger boiled inside of me.
Damon's eyes widened. He released me. "It was you? You're the one that's been taking the souls?"
"Yes, now excuse me, this is the last grave I have to dig."
"Is that why you were banished?"
I didn't answer.I dug in silence. Very, very uncomfortable silence. The conversation made me furious, short as it was. I felt the demons eyes watching me. After about ten minutes, I left the cemetery, my glow fading back to normal. On my way out, I heard Damon say,
"We're not all evil, you know."
I stopped. The silence was, well, really quiet. I turned around, but Damon was gone. I walked to where I would be sleeping for the rest of the year. All of a sudden, I thought to myself, smiling "He didn't dig a single grave."
