Snow and spells

The common room

We walk upwards as a fifth year shows us the way to the common room, I try to spot things that could help me remember the way but it doesn't help. At that moment the portrait of a knight, seeing my confusion, shouts

"Don't worry young miss, I'll help you and your fellow first years find their way round." He seems nice. Wait... The portrait had spoke. All the portraits were moving! That is so cool! I wish I had pictures like this at home. We keep walking up fights of stairs till we reach the griffindor common room, which is in one of the highest towers. As we walk down the corridor towards the painting of a rather fat lady we hear a shriek from a group of first year ravenclaws as the stairs move! What does everything here move or change positionin this place?!
"Oh sorry," says the prefect,"I forgot to tell you- the stair cases like to move so watch out." He keeps saying sorry until it gets annoying. When we finally get to the painting of the fat lady he says something that I can't hear because I'm at the back of the group. Then the portait swings backwards and reveales a doorwaythat I guess leads to the griffindor common room. We walk through the doorway,well I trip through but that's not important, and see the the common room. It's full a light from lamps spread around the room and a fire that lit the room and made it toasty and warm. The room is great. I love it. The prefect who's name I still didn't know says
"Girls your bedroom is up tje stairs and to the right, Boys yours is the same but to the left. Oh and don't worry about you belongings they're in your room next to your beds. Breakfast is at seven and you will get your time tables then so don't be late." We rush upstairs and there is our stuff even my owl,snd I remember I haven't given her a name so I decide to call her Niomi. I open her cage,I tell her to got to owlerry. Niomi ruffles her feathers and flies off into the night.
