Snow and spells

The sorting

   We follow Hagrid until we get to a small group of boats. Me and Al,we'be been talking the whole way here, get into a boat with this girl that introduces herself as Rosie. It's also clear she already knows Al and they tell me they're related. Right at that moment all convesaition stops because the castle of Hogwarts comes into view. The castle looksnlike part of the night sky, with all the windows lit up it could be mistaken for stars, but when we get closer the castles turrets make an appearance and we stare at its magnitued in awe. Its huge! How am I ment to find my way round that! We dock the boats and wall into Hogwarts.

   A short man, with balding brown hair and kind of sticky out ears tells use to line up, and says,

   "Welcome to Hogwarts, I am Professor Longbottom and I'm the deputy head master,"his name made someone snigger," you are about to be sorted into you house's. Your house's are important, acheivements will be rewarded with house point,rule breaking will make your house lose points. You can be in one of four houses: Griffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slitherin. Follow me into the great hall, when I read your name, step forward to be sorted."

  

   We follow the professor into the great hall, and if I wasn't right about Hogwarts being like the night sky I'm right now. The ceiling isn't there it's the stars and hundreds of candles are lit and suspended in mid-air. The place is huge, twice the size of the ballroom back home. We form a line infront of the table of professors.

   "When I call you name, come to front to be sorted,"says Professor Longbottom," Harrison Wenson." A short boy walks up top the old looking stool,to have an even older looking hat put on his head. Then to my surprise, but not Al's, the hat starts to move and speak!

   "Mmm, griffindor!" the hat shouts. More names are called- though they're not in any sort of order- like Rachael Greenmay is also in griffindor, Josh Nerry goes into Slitherin and Catriona Heldon is put into Ravenclaw- then Professor Longbottom shouts my name and walk forward, sit on the stool and have the hat put on my head, all the while I hope I get put in griffindor so I can stay friends with Al-who said all of his family was in griffindor.

   "Well let me see you have a lot of determination, maybe you shoould be in Slitherin,"says the hat (yes the hat),"but you have a brighter mind and more corage than you know you have, you better be, Griffindor!" The last bit the hat shouts, and I run over to the table but have to rush back to the stool because I still have the hat on,oops. Next up is Al. He looks at me-looking worried- and I put my thumbs up with the biggest smile ever. He walks up and sits on the stool and the hat is put on his head. We sit in silence. We wait until the hats shouts griffindor! Yay. Al walks to the table and sits across from me xith a massive smile on his face. A boy called Kyle Sandmer is made a new hufflepuff and a few others are sorted into house and the girl Rosie from the boats is made Griffindor as well, after a long wait.

   Then the headmistress,Professor Winster, stands and shouts,

   "May the feast begin!"
