It was midnight and Punjinn was getting drenched in heavy rain. Avira's room was semi dark as the bedside lamp lighted the room dimly. Cool night breeze blew into the room through the open windows and the white curtains hid a muscular figure behind them, as a pair of glowing golden eyes stared at Avira's sleeping face.
After a while, Avira felt the touch of a warm hand over her face and her lips. She stirred in her sleep as the hand rubbed a spot on her neck in a very delicate way, and she felt a kiss on her lips before waking up with a start. She saw the pane of the window being slammed away in a way as if someone just jumped out through it.
Being scared initially, she sat quietly on her bed, shivering out of fear, but then slowly got down from the bed and pulled on a shrug over her tank top. She walked up to the window taking her torch. The light from it pierced the darkness of the backyard and she found nobody outside. Shutting the window properly she walked out of her room and went downstairs to fill her water bottle, which was almost empty.
Switching on the lights of the kitchen, she filled the bottle while rubbing her sleepy eyes, when she saw something outside and her heart missed a beat. Standing outside their kitchen's door which faced the backyard, was the same wolf which she had seen at the forest on her very first day at Punjinn.
She walked towards the door, which had thick glass frame attached on the top portion, through which the wolf was visible. It was massive in size. She never knew that a wolf can be so big. She felt tiny infront of it. The first time she had seen it, the creature was at a good distance from her, as a result she couldn't get a complete idea of it's size in one glimpse. But tonight there was just a door which acted as a barrier between them.
The wolf had golden eyes, which were glowing as it stared at her, and she kept a hand on the glass frame of the door, and maybe as a reply, it rested it's forehead on the other side of the frame. Avira inched her face nearer to the frame to take a closer look, when it placed one of it's front paws on the frame, in a delicate manner.
"Avy!"Cedric's voice came from the staircase and she immediately turned behind, to see him walking down the stairs. She turned back to find the wolf gone and then she walked towards him asking,"you're awake?"
"Yeah! I was watching a series on Netflix. I heard the sound of your door being shut, so went to your room to check on you. Didn't find you there so I understood that you came downstairs to fill your bottle. But itni der lagti hain kya paani bharne mein? Kya karr rahi hain niche?"Cedric said.
"Nahi voh...I was looking at the forest. So dark and mysterious it is,"Avira lied.
"You're spending too much time reading mystery fictions, aren't you? Come on get some sleep. Don't want to get late on the second day of college, do you?"Cedric said while picking up the bottle and pulling her along. He switched off the kitchen's lights and the duo went upstairs, while the wolf came out of the darkness and leaped into the forest while letting out a happy howl.

The next morning at the college, Cedric walked into the hall like a living dead, followed by Avira and Kiyara, and Raayka said,"hey good morning!"
"Good sleepy morning!"Cedric said before sitting on his desk and putting his head down at once.
"Why's he so drowsy today?"Raayka asked Avira.
"Last night he was telling me that I'll miss today's class because I was up till late. And guess what? It's me who had to drive up to college today because this fool was busy sleeping throughout the way as last night he watched another season of a web series at Netflix, staying up late,"Avira replied before taking her seat, while her long wet hair brushed against Rishabh's hand as he was leaning against his desk and standing just next to her. A low growl escaped his mouth and Raayka pressed his hand immediately.
