•Title: "Safe and Warm"
•Requester:
•Warnings: talk of violence and blood. Also mention of homophobia.
•Inspiration: hell if I know
•Type: fluff with one slight angst (you will learn slight angst is a shocker for me to write. Usually I put the characters through hell...)
A/N: Okay so fun fact about me, I have only ever had one relationship where they let me wear their clothes, and he ended up being a creep. I only like to wear boyfriend's clothes and not girlfriend's, I still don't understand that. I wanted to steal my ex boyfriend's stuff but he is a farmer and mechanic, so that ruined most of his clothes. Also, as for the ship, I used to hate it but I remembered how when Dally calls the gang after he robbed the store, he demands to talk to Darry.

Dally shuffles his feet as he walks through the lot. He's wearing a light blue jean jacket with a pair of similarly colored jeans, and a simple grey t shirt. He has on his usual, warn sneakers. The rain pouring down on him has darkened the color of his clothes. His hair sticks to his head as he shivers slightly. He tries to quicken his pace but his body is too exhausted to move any faster. He has blood dripping from his nose, lip, and a small cut on his forehead. He finally reaches the Curtis house and stops walking, staring up at the door, the three small steps intimidating him. He takes a breath and slowly climbs the steps. When he reaches the door, he knocks softly, it wouldn't have been heard if nobody was in the living room. He looks through the sheer curtain and sees Darry stand from his chair and approach the door. When he opens it, he lets out a sad sigh.
"Oh, Dally," he says as he pulls the younger man into the house, "babe, you're soaking wet!"
"I know, I'm sorry," Dally whispers.
Darry guides his boyfriend into the bathroom and has him sit on the closed lid of the toilet. The rest of the gang stays in the living room, returning their attention to the television. Though seeing Dally so vulnerable and weak was out of the ordinary, none of them would say anything in fear of either Dally or even Darry getting angry. Darry quickly and carefully cleans the blood off of Dally's face and whispers apologies when Dally winces. Soda enters the room with a pile of Darry's clothes, Darry thanking him and turning back to Dally as the younger Curtis brother returns to the gang. Darry lifts Dally's wet shirt off of him after sliding the jacket off. When he sees the forming bruises on Dally's stomach, he has to clothes his eyes and breathe in order to remain calm. He slides off his jeans too. He shuts the door before having Dally slip out of his boxers. He then slips the new clothes onto Dally's slender body, staring at him afterwards.
"What're you staring at?" Dally asks softly, pulling the sweatshirt sleeves over his palms.
"Just my incredibly cute boyfriend who looks adorable in my clothes," Darry says with a smirk.
"I'm not adorable, I'm tough," Dally says as he stands up, pinning Darry against the sink counter.
"Oh Really? Darry spins quickly so that Dally is now pinned against the counter, "could've fooled me," Darry captures Dally's lips with his own for just a second before pulling away.
Dally leans forward and lays his head on Darry's shoulder as he wraps his arms around the elder's torso. Darry smiles and wraps his arms securely around him. After a long moment of just hugging, the two separate. They leave the room and Darry throws Dally's clothes into the laundry. While he does so, Dally sits on the couch next to where Steve was sitting with Soda on his lap. Dally leans back on the couch and pulls his knees to his chest. Ponyboy goes to bed and soon after Johnny and Two-bit leave the house, leaving just the three sitting on the couch.
"You okay, Dal?" Steve asks softly.
"Y-yeah, now I am," Dally responds, "I feel safe now," he whispers to himself.
"What happened?" Soda asks gently.
"Word got out that I'm gay and dating a guy. My dad heard it at work, so when he came home he decided to try and beat the gay out of me," Dally explains softly.
"I'm sorry, Dal," Steve says with a sad smile.
"You'll stay here for a bit, okay?" Soda says.
"I couldn't do that to you guys," Dally responds.
"Babe, shut it. You're staying here, and that's final," Darry says as he enters the room, having heard the conversation.
"Fine," Dally caves as his boyfriend sits next to him, leaning into the stronger man.
The two couples sit and watch the television in silence. Dally snuggles up with Darry with a small, content, smile on his face.
"How do you feel?" Darry whispers when noticing Soda and Steve are asleep.
"Safe and warm," is all Dally says before leaning up to kiss his boyfriend.
