Amy held out her hand for the wrapped-up snack, and the other soon followed in her steps giving back the nutrient. She swiftly opened up the little packaging and again offered the granola bar with a smile.

Ghosty looked at it again before taking it from her hand.

'So it wasn't a lie?'

The stranger carefully raised the nutrient to their mouth and took a small bite. They were immediately met with a sweet taste and ancient texture. It was such a good experience for them, that they wanted to eat it till they couldn't do it anymore.

The teen observed Ghosty intrigued, seeing how slowly they ate to savor the taste. They held it close as if someone was about to take it away, but were too focused on eating to notice her staring. Even their hands started to lightly tremble while holding onto the snack.

She has never seen anyone being like this while eating, but she knew they probably didn't eat too much. If being this skinny was not from starving then she had no idea what it was from. The girl kept on observing the other with curiosity.

Amy was surprised at how they're still holding up at this point. They might as well have been an illusion the whole time and she was just imagining things or something, but that was not the case. It felt too real to be another story playing in her head, they felt real sometimes, but not that much. Still, just seeing in what state they were in made chills run up her spine, just how could this ever happen to anyone, and if so then why?

Numerous thoughts and theories started forming in her head as she started feeling anxiety and worry wash over her, thinking just how much this person must have gone through. There was no doubt that something must have happened to get them to the state they were in.

After a lot more thinking she turned her attention back to Ghosty, just as they were munching on the last bite. The empty wrapper was placed in their lap, with no more use.

She carefully reached out for the trash and as she was about to grab it, she looked up to make sure she didn't startle them. Amy was immediately met with Ghosty who was already observing her actions. They were quite cautious, keeping the stare at her all the time while she reached out to grab the packaging, but still made no movement to stop her.

Seeing as they weren't going to do anything about it, Amy swiftly grabbed the trash from their lap.

"Did you like it?" she smiled placing the wrapper in her backpack.

Ghosty nodded before trying to copy her smile but instead ended up with a silly expression on their face. It looked as if they were confused and disgusted at the same time, but Amy found it quite hilarious.

The teen laughed at the gesture before covering her mouth with her hand to stop the noise from coming out of her mouth, turning her laugh into muffled chuckles.

The other looked at her confused.

"W-what's so funny?" they asked not too sure of the reason the girl found it amusing.

"It's just the look on your face, it was really adorable and silly"

'Adorable?'

Ghosty was even more confused, once again feeling the tingling sensation. It was getting ridiculous at this point.

'What is the trigger to this weird feeling? Is it Amy?'

They decided to figure it out, but after a few tries of thinking about it, they couldn't find a reasonable answer. They were troubled since they had no idea whether it was good or bad. Still, they couldn't help the feeling of nostalgia. It felt like they had encountered this sensation before. It was obviously connected to meeting this person, that was for sure.

They decided to turn their attention back to Amy. Maybe by inspecting her, they could find out more?

The girl in question was no longer laughing, but instead, she was staring into the sun that was slowly lowering, turning the sky into a warm-colored image. It looked as if burning flames were dancing around a spark of light, growing hotter with every second that passed.

Her hair was disheveled as the wind was lightly blowing it away. Their own hair was also swayed by the wind, as their gray lifeless eyes observed the other with a glint of curiosity and admiration.

Amy was a petite girl with big amber eyes and fluffy auburn hair that seemed to shine in the golden light. She had nicely toned skin, and the light color of her face made her red cheeks very visible and obvious when she was blushing. Her plump pink lips were lightly curved looking at the beautiful scenery.

The teen turned her head, meeting the warm gaze of the other. Her lips inched upwards even more forming a lovely smile. She could finally see Ghosty's face.

Time seemed to stop as the two admired each other's eyes. It was as if Amy's full-of-life orbs filled the void in the other's. No one knew what the future had in store, but they for sure knew what they both wanted.

As much as Amy would love for this moment to drag on, she still had no idea where she is, and how she could return home. She finally tore her eyes away from Ghosty and tucked a strand of stray hair behind her ear, trying to ease the tension.

"It's getting late, I should go home now...I don't want to worry my mom"

Ghosty nodded and pointed in a direction along the ravine.

"Go straight and you should find yourself closer to the place you came from," said Ghosty.

Amy got up and put the backpack on. Just as she was about to leave, Ghosty grabbed her wrist and once again looked her in the eyes.

"Will you come back..?"

The girl at first was surprised, but after processing what the other had just said, she couldn't stop the smile from forming on her face. She was fond of her new friend and hearing them say that made her heart skip a beat.

'Is this what being good friends feels like?'

Ghosty waited for the answer, they really wanted to get to know Amy better. Seeing her smile made them feel kind of warm and they liked this feeling a lot.

"Of course, I will! I was planning on doing so already, so seeing that you want me to come back made me even more sure of that. I will come here tomorrow at the time you found me in the forest if that's okay?"

They nodded as Amy turned back to the direction they pointed to before, and after a few steps, she turned around to look at Ghosty who was still in the same spot, waiting for her to disappear into the woods again.

"See you tomorrow, Ghosty!" she exclaimed giving them a bright smile and a wave.

After she got the same gesture back minus the smile, she skipped back into the dark forest, her mind preoccupied with the thought of making a new friend.

'Today was fun!'
