It's been a few minutes since Amy caught up to the strange individual, still keeping some distance between them.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
As expected, she got no answer. Her curiosity killed her and she wanted to know where the stranger was leading her. As her patience ran even thinner, she decided to look around to find a distraction from the feeling that kept tugging at her. Damn curiosity.
Amy was in for a scare when the stranger outstretched their hand, successfully stopping her movements. She looked before her in horror as a huge, deep ravine rested before her eyes. If not for this person she would be down there, probably dead.
"T-thank you..." she stuttered, still amazed and terrified at the same time. She has never seen a ravine in her life, and neither did she expect one to be this big.
The teen felt a light tugging on her arm and looked at the culprit of the sensation. She could now see the person before her so much better in the light. They had dark brown hair that was slightly curling at the ends. She still couldn't see their face, at least not yet.
They tugged on her arm again. Amy gave it a quick glance before slowly moving in the direction the stranger led her.
'Come to think of it, they're really skinny...'
It was true. The figure was so skinny it was almost terrifying to look at even in bright daylight. They looked almost like a skeleton, it was as if only the skin stayed on the bones, and as scary and unsettling as it might seem to people, Amy couldn't help but feel sad for this person.
She once again got lost in thought and didn't even notice when the stranger stopped in their tracks. She walked right into them, almost pushing them to the ground, before quickly taking hold of their shoulders to make them stand straight again.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that, I swear it was just an accident..!" she apologized affrighted.
To say she was scared for her life was an understatement. They had walked by the side of the ravine the whole time, and all it would take for them to end it is to push her. It's only been a little time, so who knows what are their intentions. It would be safer if she didn't annoy them.
Amy might have felt more comfortable and began to trust the stranger, but she still had that quiet voice in her head telling her to run away. Obviously, she couldn't do it even if she wanted to, because this person knew their way around here, and she did not.
Seeing as Amy was once again having a debate with herself, the stranger went ahead and sat on top of a flattened-out rock that was placed right by a stream of water falling into the dark abyss. Since it was late spring, the sun was shining down on the rocks making them warm. The only reason why the stones weren't too hot, was thanks to the stream of water that was cooling them down.
The teenager finally stopped another 'question session' in her head and looked at the strange individual who collected water into the palms of their hands and rose it up to their mouth, slowly drinking it to soothe the now stinging sensation in their throat.
Amy looked at them in interest, since they looked so natural doing that. Even though it was no surprise. After all, they must have spent a lot of time in this place. They claimed to be here from the beginning, so maybe they were even growing up here. Everything is a possibility seeing what state they are in. At this point, Amy was even wondering if it's all just a dream, which would make the most sense right now.
The stranger noticed her staring and gestured to another rock by their side, of course, the one farther away from the ravine but still close enough so they can reach her. They didn't want her to be all tense, well, tenser than now seeing the way she acted.
Just as instructed Amy took the seat next to the stranger, deciding to look around the area they were in right now.
She looked at the stream of water that was beautifully glistening in the light. It was so clear you could see all the different rocks under the water. Amy looked at the light blue sky, the sun might have not been so high anymore, but it was still bright outside.
Adding more to the pretty picture in her memory that will surely be engraved, the place they were in had rocks scattered on green patterns of grass. Some were as big as the one she was sitting on, and some were even bigger or smaller. It all looked so pretty, just like a scene from a fairytale.
The rocks were only in this one place as if someone moved them all here. Around the ravine, most of the terrain was just grass or dirt, even some sand in specific places. A few meters of this terrain and then it all faded once again into the dark forest.
Amy's eyes glistened with amazement, this place was so pretty she still couldn't believe it. A part of her has decided it's just a dream, but there was still something tugging her back to reality.
The stranger.
She turned to face them and it seems they were observing her while she was inspecting the place. She stared back, having to look up a little to stare at their full face.
"Can I call you Ghosty..?" asked Amy out of nowhere. She then covered her mouth and looked away.
'Did I say it out loud? I didn't mean to..!'
Her face started heating up. She was so embarrassed, even though she did it in front of others all the time. But now, it somehow felt different. It was probably because of the fact this was a complete stranger, right?
"Okay."
Amy looked up again removing her hands from her face, which got even more flushed after that short answer.
Ghosty as now that was their name, once again felt the tingling sensation. It was so hard to explain exactly what they were feeling. For some reason they wanted the girl to spend even more time with them.
They placed their hand on their stomach and looked at it.
'What is this feeling?'
Amy having seen the gesture immediately took a hold of her bag and started rummaging through it hurriedly.
Ghosty looked at her actions in wonder and a hint of curiosity, and just as they were about to try to ask what she was doing, Amy beat them to it by pulling out a strange item that they have never seen before.
"You're hungry, right? Sorry, but I ate my school lunch and the only thing left is the granola bar...I'm sure you'll like it though, it's my favorite so I think you will enjoy it too!" she said enthusiastically holding out the granola bar.
The other hesitantly took the nutrient from her outstretched hand, immediately examining the thing they were given.
'It doesn't smell of food, so why did she say it was to solve being hungry?'
Ghosty kept inspecting the granola bar in confusion, wondering what she meant. She wouldn't lie to them, right?
Amy blinked in surprise and chuckled seeing the struggles of the other, which gained back their attention from the little package.
"You're supposed to unwrap it first," she said while laughing at Ghosty who was still confused "here, let me help."
