Amy collected her belongings and sent her mom a quick message about coming home later than usual, in case her mom's shift was cut short due to her staying after work hours on request.

After making sure she didn't forget anything, the teen proceeded to walk out of the building, making her way back to the forest. Ever since the meeting with the mysterious individual, they always somehow managed to stay on her mind.

All of the time at school she found herself impatiently waiting for it to end, so she can go and see Ghosty's face again. It was as if something was pulling her towards the other, or was it maybe her curiosity again? At this point it's probably both, seeing how much thought she has given it.

The sky was clear as ever, not even a single cloud in the beautiful light blue paradise. The sun shone gracefully at the top, blessing the world with light, making it all seem alive. Green grass seemed even more vivid, the flowers on the surface bashfully bathing in the intense sunlight making them stand out even more.

Amy skipped happily down the path leading her to her destination as the navy blue backpack that was draped on her shoulders jumped up and down with the motion.

This day was too beautiful to be worrying about anything, it was as if the rays of sunlight made her more energized. The occasional singing of birds put an even brighter smile on her face as she finally reached her first stop.

Amy looked down at the still visible arrows craved in the dirt from the day before and took a deep breath to calm herself. After a hesitant look into the way before her, she glanced behind her and slowly and carefully walked off the path into the mysterious forest.

The deeper into the forest, the quieter it got, making the crunching of leaves under her feet louder as she continued her wander. She could no longer hear the birds, and the dark leaves on the tall trees covered the place completely, only letting a bit of sunlight peek through.

Nonetheless, Amy kept going.

It was far too late to turn back, besides, she wouldn't allow herself to break her own word. She said she would be back, and she will. It doesn't matter if she's scared of the dark depths of nature, it doesn't matter how many alerting thoughts keep reminding her of what she's doing. As long as she kept her word, it will all turn out fine, just like always.

Instead, she tried to focus on other thoughts.

'Today is Friday, that means I'll have my morning shift tomorrow at the shop...but then I'll be free all day after taking care of some chores at home. Maybe I could spend more time with Ghosty then?'

Amy continued to walk in a straight line. There was still no sight of the huge ravine at all, so she kept going, glancing left and right in case she went off the track.

At this point, she had no idea how long it should take her to get to her destination. Amy couldn't see the sun at all, it was pretty dark so she had to be a little careful where she walks, there were a few times she tripped over something but managed to catch her balance before the fall.

Peace and quiet, something she learned to love but also fear. After the first meeting with her friend, she was quite scared of being alone like this, but after getting to spend some time with them, she started getting used to it a little again.

Amy quickened her pace a little after seeing more light coming from the direction before her until she finally reached the clearing around the dark abyss.

Seeing the scenery before her she took a deep breath and carefully continued to go to their last meeting place. It all looked so beautiful, just like she remembered it.

There was still no sight of her friend, so she decided to sit on one of the rocks warmed by the sun. Amy set her backpack and looked at the water flowing to the ravine. She gently put her fingertips in the water letting it run over them, cooling them slightly off.

The girl smiled at the nice feeling, playing with her hand around in the water. The cool liquid tickled her skin while the warm sun shone on her petite figure. It all felt so relaxing and the teen was very fond of it.

Amy began to think of all the things she could possibly do with Ghosty, all the topics they could talk about, all the stuff she could teach her friend. There was so much she wanted to show them, it all made the teen smile more and more with excitement.

She was so sucked into her thoughts that she didn't notice the other person that has been observing her from afar. They were admiring the girl, savoring every memory of her as much as they could.

Their gray eyes followed every move, every little gesture, and every expression the teen made.

Was it strange? They didn't know, all that mattered was that they could see Amy being herself without any care in the world.

It's been some time since they started following the girl, so Ghosty finally decided to come out of hiding.

They walked towards the girl who still was in a whole different world, not noticing her friend even when they sat right next to her. Amy's eyes were still glued to the water, her amber eyes gleaming in the sun like the rarest gems.

Ghosty loved just looking at Amy, in their eyes she was perfect. The teen was like an angel that showed up at their lowest, to finally rescue them from eternal loneliness and make their life seem worth it again. The only light that shone in the darkness, the lantern that guided them down the right path in the night.

Ghostly hesitantly leaned towards Amy and gently placed their hand on her shoulder. The girl shivered, instantly grabbed the hand that rested on her shoulder, and turned to face them.

Her wide eyes went back to normal after being met with Ghosty's face, that as usual was covered by their dark hair.

Amy breathed out with relief "I'm glad it's just you Ghosty."

The other nodded lightly still in shock as the girl gave them one of her warm smiles.
