The town of San Andes...
The sun shines brightly over the small town of white houses. The shimmering ocean waves crash along the shore and seagulls screech from their nests on the rocky outcrops. A young woman stands on the soft white sand, her bare feet cooled by the foamy waves. Her long brown hair reaches her lower back, and flicks around in the light breeze. Around her neck is a gold chain, and resting just below her collar bone is a bright red amulet.
"María! Senorita Fernanda!" A fair haired man calls her name, running towards her from across the beach. "Alejandro, what is it?" The woman, evidently named María Fernanda, asks the man as he approaches. "Senorita, it's my daughter. She was playing on our garden wall when she fell. Her leg is badly hurt, can you help her?" Alejandro's eyes are filled with fear as he catches his breath. "Of course, take me to her." María says, turning away from the choppy, turquoise waves to follow the man towards the town. The two hurry through the narrow streets, passing hand-drawn carts and villages carrying bundles of brightly various coloured items as they go.
After a few minutes they reach a small house on the corner of a street. The door frame is engraved with an intricate design of shells and flowers. "Just back here," the man says, opening a gate to the side of the house. María follows him around the side of the house to a small garden. Leaning against a short wall is a little girl, with blonde hair to match her fathers. The girl's leg is bleeding, and bent at a strange angle. "Oh Dios mío, niñita, what happened here?" María asks the child gently, crouching down next to her. "I- I- I was just climbing on the wall, but I slipped." The girl says through her tears. "That's no good! Your leg looks pretty sore, let me help you." María places one hand on the amulet around her neck, and the other on the injured leg. She closes her eyes as the necklace begins to glow, and a similar glow forms around the girl's leg. After a few moments, María opens her eyes, and the leg is healed. "¡Muchas gracias, señorita Fernanda!" The girl exclaims happily, giving María a big hug. "You're very welcome, niña," María chuckles. "Thank you, so so much," Alejandro says, shaking her hand appreciatively. "All in a day's work, I'm always happy to help." She says, and after saying goodbye to the girl, whose name she found out is Daniela, she leaves the home. She smiles to herself as she walks the beautiful streets; All in a day's work as a Fernanda Amulet keeper...
Meanwhile in Encanto (Y/n's perspective)...
Camilo pulls me into a kiss. His hands are on my waist and I wrap my arms around his neck. Leaning back, he supports my weight. "Really guys? I'm tryna eat here." Mirabel sighs. I pull out of the kiss for a moment to see her standing next to us holding a bowl of cereal. "Sorry Mira," I murmur, before turning my face back to meet Camilo's. "It's too early for this," She groans, rolling her eyes and trudging out of the lounge to eat in peace. "She's definitely not a morning person." I say, pausing our snog for a moment. "Sucks to be her then," Camilo says, smirking. I smile up at him, his face an inch from mine. Closing the distance, we resume our make-out. "Aye Camilo!" We're interrupted again, but this time by Pepa. She rolls her eyes, a grey cloud above her head. "Mami! Good morning!" Camilo says hastily, hurrying over to give her a kiss on the cheek. "I know you're happy Y/n is back in the family, but you need to stop snogging her every five minutes!" Pepa exclaims, slightly agitated. Camilo blushes, glances over at me, very much embarrassed. "Sorry mami, it won't happen again." He says, fighting back his smile. "Mhm, just remember to do your chores today." Pepa sighs, giving him a kiss on the cheek before heading back outside. "Oh it most definitely will happen again," I smirk once Pepa is out of earshot. I grab the collar of his shirt and pull his face towards mine.
A few minutes later we're heading towards the village. "I gotta fill the donkey's water troughs, refill the well and a few other things..." I say, listing my chores off on my fingers. "I've just got a couple things to do so I'll meet you in an hour outside Andres bakery?" Camilo suggests, pulling out a list of his chores. "Perfecto," I smile, before hurrying off towards the outskirts of the town. An hour later I've finished my chores so I head over to the bakery. As I approach it I see Camilo leaning against the wall, looking sulky. "Cami, you ok?" I ask, confused and concerned. "Yeh, fine. Besides the fact that YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE!" He exclaims, pushing himself away from the wall to slouch down on a nearby bench. I'm a bit taken aback, but after a moment I realise what he's on about. I walk over to him, resting my chin on his head. "You're not mad that I didn't give you a kiss goodbye before going to do my chores are you? A bit dramatic, mi vida" I say with a smile, leaning further over his head, resting my arms on his shoulders. He looks up to meet my eyes, before standing up abruptly. "I'm not being dramatic!" He stamps his foot, crossing his arms and sticking his lip out in a pouty expression. I roll my eyes before grabbing his face, giving him a small kiss. His cheeks burn red; "Do that one more time and I might forgive you," He mumbles. "Works for me," I smile, kissing him again. We spend the rest of the day walking around the village, helping where we can. By the time we head back to Casita, the sun is beginning to set. As we walk into the kitchen, I see everyone seated at the table, Abuela standing, looking grim, at one end. "You two sit down, there is something we need to discuss."
