María showed us one of her spare rooms where we could stay. "There's only two beds sorry," She says, indicating towards the two wooden beds against the walls. "It's more than we could have asked for, thank you senorita," Isabella says, putting her bag down on one of the beds. "It's crucial that Gracie doesn't find out about our plan," Camilo says, sitting down onto the other, causing the sea green sheets to crease. "Of course, she should be back from the market soon, so we best not discuss it now." She looks pale, the colour drained from her face, a little shaken since we told her about Gracies true intentions. I feel a mixture of pity and sympathy for her. "Hey, don't worry, we're going to help you protect your home," I tell her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. She smiles appreciatively, looking between the 3 of us. "Muchas gracias, todos ustedes(all of you), I don't know what would have happened if you didn't warn me," we exchange smiles before she leaves to let us settle in.

I look out of the single window in the room. It's frame is the same colour as the bed sheets, and a small potted plant baths in the golden sunlight on the window sill. The window faces the sea, so I can see the sun disappearing below the horizon. Isa stretches out on one of the beds, pulling a book from out of her bag. I glance at the cover and see it's one of her many romance novels she keeps hidden from Abuela in her room. "I guess we're sharing, 'cus there's no way I'm sleeping on the floor." Camilo laughs, sitting on the bed, his legs stretched out in front of him.. I turn away from the window and face him, a small smile on my face. "Works for me," I shrug, walking over to him.

He opens his arms and I sit on his lap, wrapping my arms around his torso, burying my face in the dip between his shoulder and neck. He lies down slowly, holding me close to him. I rest my head on his chest, listening to his heart beat. His gentle hands stroke my hair. "I'm so tired..." I murmur, closing my eyes. "It's ok mi vida, it's been a long day, sleep..." He kisses my head, and begins to hum a soothing tune. "Ew." Isabella says, flinging up her hand. A wall of vines and flowers spring up from the ground. I laugh, rolling my eyes. "Party pooper," Camilo mutters. I roll off of him, turning onto my side and he wraps his hands around my waist. "Buenas noches, corazón..." He whispers into my ear, kissing my neck. "Buenas noches, amor..." I murmur, closing my eyes.

Next morning...

I'm startled awake as someone rips the covers off of me. Camilo's arms are still around me, and he squeezes me, grimacing from the sudden flush of cold morning air. "What the-" I hear Isa murmur. "Por el amor de Dios, wake up!" I hear a familiar irritating voice call out. It's too early for this... I think as I slowly open my eyes and sit up. Standing in front of us is Gracie, her arms crossed impatiently. She glares at Camilo, who is still lying down and then at me. "You two look comfy," She remarks saltily. "We are, thanks," I snap back, returning her icy glare. "I know you followed me here, but I'm warning you, stay out of my way." She looks between me and Isa, attempting to be intimidating. I roll my eyes and scoff, "if you didn't want us interfering with your 'great plan', you shouldn't have left your dumb diary in such an obvious hiding place." She looks furious. "You can't stop me, Y/n," She says before storming out of the room.

"Ugh," I scoff, collapsing back onto the bed. "Why can't she just be a normal person, not some power hungry crazy bitch." I say, grabbing a pillow from behind my head and pulling it over my face. "We need to talk to María, quickly." Isa says, heading out of the room, after changing into her day clothes behind a wall of flowers. Camilo jumps onto the bed behind me, his head leaning over mine. He gently pulls the pillow away from my face. "Now how can I kiss you when this is covering your lips?" He asks, smirking. I look up at his beautiful eyes, laced with sleep. My hands find the back of his neck and I pull his face towards mine, closing the distance. "I said quickly!" Isa pokes her head back into the room, looking agitated. "We're coming, we're coming," Camilo says, as I roll off the bed, sliding my hand into Camilo's and following Isabella out of the sunlit room.
