4 months later....

Things have been going amazing, Nesta and Cassian had finally made up, Nyx was almost as good at flying as Rhysand, and Gwyn was more than confident she was going to beat Azriel today.

She had spent almost everyday working flying and carrying the weight of Illyrian wings on her back. Feyre and Cassian had given as many pointers as they could. When last week before their race showed up, Gwyn had told Azriel that she was going to spend the week at the River Estate so she would have no distractions or deplete energy in anyway besides flying. Azriel was hesitant on not seeing her for a week but he had brought up the point that it might happen frequently with his spying.

"My missions, they sometimes last longer than one week," he had said.

"And I'll be here waiting, Shadowsinger.." Gwyn had finished that conversation with a searing kiss and Azriel had brought her to bed that night, giving her something to remember him by for the week.

During the past four months, Gwyn had gotten more comfortable sexually with Azriel and she could feel herself nearing to accept the bond. There was just a few things she wanted to do first. One would be to successfully have sex with Azriel and get comfortable with that. Another thing would be to meet Azriel's mother. Azriel had gone on his visits but he was still working up the courage to introduce Gwyn to her. Azriel had told Gwyn that they needed to choose one of her good days and left it at that. Gwyn would be patient though, she knew she would meet Azriel's mother one day.

She was currently in front of the lake near the cabin in Illyria, her wings out and bundled up warmly, yet comfortably, against the harsh cold weather. Nesta and Emerie were outside with her as well, all of them waiting for Azriel, Cassian, and Rhysand to walk out. She shifted her wings every so often so that the cold wouldn't tighten the membrane.

Walking out in pure male smugness, the three brothers came towards the three Valkyries. Gwyn had on four of cobalt siphons on and Azriel had the other three. She still wondered what he wanted to test out with their powers.

Cassian was going over the course to fly and how to win. Gwyn, had already mapped out the course and done it twice, was solely focused on Azriel, whose attention was also solely on her.

Suddenly, an image came across her mind. Her naked and him between her legs, devouring her entirely.

She blinked back the image, her face turning red, and she saw Azriel slowly grinning as if distracting her with the image was his plan. She grinned back as she sent an image through their bond, this one being of when they both feasted on each other. She saw that her revenged worked when Azriel's face tinted with the faintest pink.

"Let's get this race over with so these mates can stop stinking up the forest with their scent," Cassian quipped, drawing Azriel's and Gwyn's attention back to why they were outside in the cold. Azriel didn't look the slightest bit embarrassed.

Azriel and Gwyn walked up to the starting point, Gwyn readying herself for the win. Their shadows stayed behind, twirling in the air together.

"On my signal, go." Cassian said and Gwyn positioned herself to take off just how Feyre and Cas taught her. Cassian clapped his hands together, starting the race.

The cold weather made the fog to be more dense than normal that Gwyn couldn't see where Azriel was. Her wings moved quickly, rising up more in the sky and the cold wind hitting her face.

She faintly saw the mountain they needed to go around and flew her way to it. As she got closer to the mountain, she felt her wings drag slightly more, tired from the speed she used at take off.
