ELYSIA'S POV
Finally, our last class; Flying lesson. My friends and I was walking to the class.
"Aren you excited, Elysia," Blaise asked.
"Er-- No?" I replied.
"Why I must be excited?"
"Because we're going to learn how to fly on a broomstick!" Caitlyn jumped up and down excitedly. "It's the basic of Quidditch." She explained. "I LOVE Quidditch!"
"Quid- what?"
"Quidditch!"
"Um," I cleared her throat. "What is that?"
"What is Quidditch?!" My friends asked loudly, surprised. "You don't know what Quidditch is?!" Draco was shaking me. I was a little pissed; I have been introduced to the wizarding world barely for two months and today was still my second day. How do they expect me to know what is Quidditch? Or the answers to Professor Snape's questions!
"Sorry, I don't know what's that is," I refrained from lashing out.
"Well, um, don't think about Quidditch now. First-year never really got into the team," Caitlyn patted my back.
"Right," I nodded as we continued making our way to the Flying class.
"Good evening, students," A grey-haired woman with yellow eyes greeted.
"Good evening, Madam Hooch!" We answered the hawk-eyed professor.
"Well, what are you all waiting for?" Madam Hooch barked. "Everyone stand by a broomstick. Come on, hurry up."
The Gryffindors lined up with the Hufflepuffs and Slytherins with Ravenclaws in another line. I was standing between Draco and Laura. Harry stood in front of me, with Ron and Hermoine beside him. The students obeyed her and everyone stood next to a broomstick.
"Stick out your right hand over your broom and say 'Up!'"
"Up!" Shout all the students.
Harry's broom jumped to his hand almost immediately. Draco's broom flew up into his hand not long after him. I tried again a few times to get my broom in my hand. I glanced around and saw Hermione's had simply rolled over the ground, Neville's hadn't moved at all and most students have theirs hovering around between the ground and their hands.
I smiled, relieved that I wasn't the last one.
"Ouch!" Ron cried. His broom shot right on his face. Harry let out a small laugh. "Shut up, Harry."
I giggled at Harry for being scolded by his friend.
The moment passed and everyone got their broom off the ground.
Madam Hooch said loudly, "Now when I blow my whistle, you kick off from the ground hard, keep your brooms steady, rise a few feet and then come straight back down by leaning forwards slightly. On my whistle; Three, two-"
"Woah!" Neville gasped. He had already started hovering. A couple of feet in the air, panicking. "Mr Longbottom!" Madam Hooch called out loudly. She looked very worried when Neville start rising straight up like a cork shot out of a bottle; twelve feet, twenty feet. "Come back down this instant-- Mr- Mr- Mr Longbottom!" cried Madam Hooch as she tried to stop the broom with a spell, but, failed.Neville kept bumping on the castle wall.
'I don't like this class,' I hugged the broom closer to my chest, afraid for Neville's well-being.
After a lot of smashing into the wall, he felt out his broom! His robe got stuck on a sword of the statues. Neville just hanging there, I released a sigh of relief-- No! His robe started to rip itself--
I close my eyes tightly.
WHAM!
I heard a loud thud and a nasty crack. As I slowly open my eyes, I saw Neville laying, face down, on the grass. His broomstick was still rising higher and higher and started to drift lazily towards the Forbidden Forest, flying out of our sight.
"Everyone out of the way," said Madam Hooch as we made a path for her. She quickly walked towards Neville. She bent over him, her face as white as his.
"Is he okay, professor?" I asked.
"Broken wrist," She muttered. "Come on, boy... It's all right, up you get." She turned to the rest of the class; "Everyone is to keep their feet firmly on the ground while I take Mr Longbottom to the hospital wing. Understand?"
We nodded.
"If I see a single broom in the air the one riding it will find themselves out of Hogwarts before they can say 'Quidditch'" And she walked away with Neville. "Come on, dear.
"No sooner were they out of earshot, Draco burst into laughter.
"Did you see his face?" He snickered. He was holding Neville's Remembrall. "If the fat lump had given this a squeeze he would remember to fall on his fat arse."
"Give it back, Malfoy." Harry said, stepping forward. Draco gave him a nasty smile.
"Yeah, come on, Draco. Give it back," I continued after my brother.
"No!" He ignored me, smirking at Harry. "I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find," Draco said and started flying with his broom. "How about on the roof?"
I stared at the platinum-blonde hair boy. He seems to be waiting for Harry.
"What's the matter, Harry Potter? A bit beyond your reach?" He teased.
I looked at Harry; He couldn't hold it anymore and mounted his broom. I ran to his side to stop him, but, I was too late. He already in the air."
What. An. Idiot." Hermione exclaimed. I nodded, agreeing with her.
Draco smirked as he played with the Remembrall around. "Have it your way, then!" And he threw it.
I don't think Harry would make it. The ball would smash into pieces before he could reach it.
'But I might make it!' I thought. Draco threw the ball towards our direction after all. I snatched Caitlyn's boom and mounted mine. I started flying.
"Elysia!" I heard Hermione called shouting my name.
I held the end of Caitlyn's broom as I get close to the ball. I swung the broom, the ball hit the broom and flew in the other direction. Harry quickly turned to catch it. He reached out for the ball as it got closer to a window.
Harry caught it! He flew down as I followed him and we high-fived each other.
But then I saw a silhouette through the window where Harry almost flew into; Professor McGonagall! She peeked through her window.
'Oh no...' I sighed as I handed Caitlyn's her broom. "Are you okay?" She asked. "Yup, I'm fine," I smiled at her. Other students crowded around us; "That's awesome, Harry! Elysia!"
"Smart move, Elysia!"
"You're so fast, Harry!"The students cheered and tried to give us high-fives.
I search for Draco in the crowd. Our eyes met. I shook my head--
"Potters!"
All of us turned and saw McGonagall.
'Oh-uh... We're in trouble.'
"Follow me," McGonagall demanded.
Both, Harry and I followed. I turned to look at my friends; Laura and Caitlyn mouthed an 'It will be okay,' and 'Sorry'. from Draco.
