"Please don't hurt me,"

Ivory had climbed on top of the smelter to at least put something between her and this man.

She couldn't believe that she had been found twice in one day and evaded the first one's grasp.

Her eyes were also
streaked with tears as she crouched low on her vantage point.

"Why would I want to hurt you?"

The man spoke to him in a gentle, soothing voice, really quite calming.

Ivory didn't feel calm, however.

She was trapped in a room with a man blocking the path to the exit.

"I'm Grian by the way. I don't care if you have a bad past background, us here on the Hermitcraft server welcome all different people."

Ivory wasn't sure if she should trust this man at all, it all just felt like a trap to get her captured again.

Grian could sense this panic and decided on the best way to help him.

"You can go if you don't feel comfortable here, if you want."

Grian moved to the side, opening a space in the doorway.

He's being...kind? Ivory thought, completely confused. Nobody has been kind to me in my entire life apart from my father, all those years ago.

Anyways, Grian was letting him go so he quickly ran out and exited the base. She felt as though he was trying to be kind to her so she climbed up one of the tall jungle trees near the base. This was her new home.

She set up a bed made from leaves that she picked from the end of the thick branch. She set up his home and ate some of the cooked pork chops she had stolen from the man earlier on.

It was cold that night.

Ivory had curled up into a tight ball on her makeshift bed to try to keep as much of her heat as possible. The winter was growing ever so near however and the biting cold had racked her body with shivers by the morning.
A fresh gust of wind ruffled her hair alongside the leaves attached to the thick branches.

As the sun rose over the horizon, Ivory woke up to the sound of a man shouting a name she couldn't make out from up in the tree.
She looked down and saw the man she had first seen yesterday, Mumbo. He seemed
to be shouting something. Now Ivory was focused she could clearly hear him shouting for Grian.

Grian exited his base, which looked an awful lot smaller from up on the branch, and saw the man, who was in a full
black suit and had a moustache emblazoned on his face, waving at Grian.

"Agh, Mumbo, why are you here this early?"
Grian had only just woken up, it seemed, so he groaned as he said it.
"It's only 6am. That's not that early."

"6am! That's so early. What's so important that you need to wake me up now?"

Mumbo had to whisper as to not let anyone else here but Myth climbed slightly down the tree so he could
hear.

"...Hermitcraft, and I feel he could be dangerous. I caught her stealing some of my food yesterday."
He's talking about me... Ivory thought as she climbed a little lower on the vines blanketing the tree.
"Did she, by chance, have a mask and a black trench coat and an orange rose in her pocket?"
"Umm, yeah. How did you know?"

"I also met her yesterday, but she was scared and curled up in the corner of my super smelter room. She also told me to not hurt her. She had jumped on top of my smelter when I tried to come closer, to get away from me I guess, so I let him go."

"She was scared? When I saw her she was determined to steal my food but then she ran away when she saw me. I reported it to Xisuma and then I remembered who she was-"
"Who?"
"I was getting to that."
"Sorry."
"It's fine. Anyway her name is IvoryCello and apparently she has committed murder and escaped prison, multiple times."

Grian didn't know how to reply to this.

To Grian, Ivory seemed like a scared person who couldn't get food herself so she had to resort to stealing.
And there had to be another explanation for the crimes she had committed. And surely she could be forgiven, right?

Grian was forgiven for his actions, so why couldn't this Ivory person be?
