TWs: blood, death
"Sven? Sam?" A voice in the distance echoed in their heads.
Their eyes were rimmed with white as they looked out into their grassy surroundings.
The white eventually faded as their eyes adjusted to the sudden sunlight.
They looked out to see a green and purple figure looking back at them with concerned eyes.
“Are you ok?” It asked.
“Yeah we’re fine. We got banned when they found us. You know how it feels to get banned.” Sam said.
“Tell me about it… Anyway Plumpkin is waiting for you. I would really recommend getting over there quickly, he’s in a bit of a mood, don’t make it worse please.” Deaf replied, quickly flashing a look of his arm to Sam.
His arm seemed to be covered in a deep purple where, presumably Plumpkin, had hit him.
“Ah, um… we’ll get over there right now then.” Sven said, his voice faltering slightly as he examined Deaf’s arm closer.
“Please do…”

“Come in.” The voice of the God boomed inside their heads.
“Sir, I can expla-” Sven started.
“Silence! I gave you one job and you went and got spotted almost immediately. What were you thinking?” Plumpkin intervened.
“Sir, may I kindly inform you that we have the exact location of Ivory and her allies. Even though we weren’t able to capture her we were still able to gather a lot of information.” Sam explained.
Sam walked right up to Plumpkin and said this to his face.
“You really think you know better than me, Sam? Do you want to know how I deal with people that don’t follow the rules?” Plumpkin threatened.
“Oh I know what you do. I’ve witnessed what you have done to Ivory. She deserves it though.” Sam yelled.
“You know what I’m capable of, Sam. And let this be a lesson to you, Sven, as well.” Plumpkin countered, lifting his arm slightly.
“You wouldn’t do that to the person who hired you in the first place.” Sam argued.
“You really believe so?” Plumpkin replied, raising his arm fully and menacingly pointing directly at Sam’s chest.
An orange aura suddenly appeared around Sam, flinging him into the air. Plumpkin quickly snapped his arm left and threw Sam, still flying in the air, against the wall with an unimaginable amount of force. Sam coughed and wheezed in his position near the wall, blood spluttering from his mouth and landing near to where Sven was standing, who was shock-still, in horror.
Plumpkin snapped his arm the other way, slamming Sam into the opposite wall. Sam’s limbs splayed into weird directions and a steady stream of blood began raining down near Sven, of whom had taken shelter behind one of the many tall stone pillars that were holding up the high roof.
The God repeated this action multiple more times before dropping Sam’s unconscious, limp body to the ground in front of him. A dark pool of red seeped into the ornate carpet below him, staining with blood. Sven ran towards him wanting to help his fallen friend, however Plumpkin’s booming voice stopped him.
“Come any closer to him and I’ll repeat that for you.”
“I, uh… I-“ Sven spluttered.
“He has 82 lives anyway he’ll be fine.” Plumpkin explained.
Sam’s body faded slowly, popping out of existence the moment Sven stepped near it.
“Just like a clock ticking, another life gone - 81 now.” Plumpkin said, menacingly.
“You killed him!” Sven shouted.
“No. He killed himself. He was the one that decided to argue with my power. Take this as a lesson to not mess with me.”
“O-ok, Sir.” Sven stuttered.
“Now get out of my sight.” Plumpkin ordered in a quiet but angry tone.
Sven would have preferred it if Plumpkin had just shouted at him, not that tone of voice.
That meant business.
They were in a lot of trouble.

Sam’s eyes fluttered open as he felt his senses return to him.
First, he acknowledged the fact that he was lying in his bed, in his house and that there was a green person, who he assumed was Deaf, standing against the wall opposite. The figure looked up and then smiled with great joy as he walked closer to Sam and saw that he was awake.
Second, he could feel the calming sensation of his bed’s warmth seeping into his cold body. He personally had no idea why he was so cold or what had happened that had brought him here. He suspected that he had died since this was his last respawn point.
Third, the smell of lemon pie hit his nose and filled his brain with nostalgic memories as his childhood flashed before his eyes. His favourite food as a child had been lemon pie and many fond memories had developed from it in his time alive.
Then, he realised that a tingling sensation had begun to overtake his right hand.
One look at it confirmed that he had died.
The little two-digit number that was on the back of his hand used to say 82 lives remaining.
Now it said 81.
A beeping sound filled the air and the green figure opened the door and ran off, coming back a few minutes later with a steaming plate of lemon pie, pre-cut.
“Good to see you're ok.” Deaf said.
“What genuinely happened just then?” Sam asked.
“I’m not entirely sure, Sven knows, but from what I can tell, you got into a fight with Plumpkin and it didn’t end in your favour. I told you not to pick fights with the God. You were out for at least a day.” Deaf explained.
Sam sat up in the bed and contemplated what his brother had just told him while chewing on a delicious piece of lemon pie.
He stayed silent, mulling over his loss and let regret take hold.
I just have to play along for a while and then everything will be fine, Ivory will be dead and I can live without this pain He thought.
“Thank you, Deaf.” Sam thanked.
“I’ll always be here for you.” Deaf replied.

Note: This was surprisingly fun to write, especially the part where Sam gets absolutely bullied by Plumpkin. My writer's block had really stopped me from uploading this sooner so I decided to write this at 10pm to like 11pm in a pitch black room (like I normally do for writing these chapters) as for some reason that helps me think of ideas faster and easier. Explanation???
Next chapter: MCC stuff maybe??? 👀
Also shout out to th3sxmps_ for really inspiring me to write this and keeping me motivated. Go check out their works (they’re really good btw).
P.s Go check out my friend’s new one-shot book Kopfkino on this account (It's much better written than this, stop wasting your time reading my god awful writing).
Have a great day! :D
Non author's note: The fact that you enjoyed writing about a God bullying some mortals really says a lot about your personality....
(Also if you are going to read the oneshot book be prepared for some cringe ideas.)
