Final Notes (explaining stuff)

Wait, it's been 5 months since I ended this!?

Ok, anyway…

I know this might be a bit of a surprise to see an update from this book, if anyone does actually read this, but I just wanted to clear up some of the rest of the story so it doesn’t feel as unfinished as it is. I’m going to go through all the plans I had for the rest and even a possible second book I had written down a small plan on. I’m also going to include my original plan I wrote before I even started writing and some of the small paragraph plans I made for certain sections like the ending.

I’m going to be using the completely original plans so there will be no name/pronoun changes for Ivory since I want to keep the plans fully original. Just take it as c!mythrodak. I hope you understand.

I’ll start with the original plan:

Mythro escapes the abyss after being stuck in there for a long time. He finds his way onto Hermitcraft (season 7 near the start of turf war) where he hides and slowly becomes friends with Grian. He eventually finds it easier to trust the rest of the hermits. Grian mentions MCC and Mythro is interested so they (Mythro and Grian) apply after a lot of intense persuading from Grian. Grian and Scott meet to discuss Mythro and tells him that he has a hard background. They go to MCC but Awsamdude is on another team. Their team is Mythro, Dream, Grian and Scott. Sam and Mythro have encounters that don’t go very well. They do end up winning, however the prison builders find Mythro so his team fights them off (especially Dream). All the prison builders with the exception of Sam are banned by Scott. Sam is left undefended and helpless. Scott tells Mythro that he can’t kill him as it is not allowed in the MCC lobby. They turn around and turn back around to see Mythro kill Sam. [Insert ending here]

As you might be able to tell I changed a few things about this while writing but in reality that’s kinda just what happens with these sorts of things. A few of the unwritten parts still have changes made to them which can be seen below in the ending explanations.

How mcc and the book was going to end:

My first idea for the ending and next book:

After Mythro kills Sam by pushing him through the MCC lobby portal and then perma killing him, Sven and Plumpkin ambush him and trap him in the abyss again. In the second book it is basically Mythro escaping the abyss and plotting against Plumpkin. Mythro, during the book, has a pretty big battle against Plumpkin since Plumpkin’s a God. Mythro could maybe find the inner magic within him before the battle due to Timeless which greatly helps him in the battle. 

More detail on the ending (written a bit later than the plan above):

At the end Sam talks to Mythro and tells him that they never started the war, their grandparents did and that they could just forgive each other. Mythro says something meaningful and then ends Sam. Just after Grian and Scott catch up to him then they get ambushed and Grian and Scott get kidnapped by Sven. Mythro also gets ambushed by Plumpkin who puts Mythro back in the Abyss. SIGNALLING NEXT BOOK CLIFFHANGER WOOOOOOO!

As you can see here Ivory was going captured again for the next book’s cliffhanger which would’ve then become more of a lore compliant book. I think I wrote this around the time of “Escaping The Abyss” and “The End” and I’m pretty sure I just wanted to get some more of the actual lore in here. Scott and Grian more than likely were going to get saved even though I never wrote anything more on the topic since I didn’t want to get my hopes up about a possible second book at the time. I still had quite a way before that point.

Also, yes, they were gonna win the mcc. I was honestly really looking forward to writing survival games as I had read and watched “The Hunger Games” series fairly recently around that time and really enjoyed it. I think I was also looking forward to it because I just really wanted to get a few more fight scenes into the story. Plus just getting better at writing fights in the first place I guess.

Final Chapter idea:

Tick tock, tick tock.

The never ending sound.

It never stops.

It never ends.

It drives him insane.

He doesn’t know where heis.

The endless abyss

Yet he does know where he is.

His own mind…

And the pain that never ends.

It will never leave.

As much as you believe.

It will remain:

The never-ending pain.

I’m honestly still surprisingly happy with how I wrote this. The callback to the beginning is quite neat and the final line being the title still satisfies me a remarkable amount. My thought process for this I think was the fact that this is what I wrote at the beginning for Ivory in The Abyss and since my ending plan had Ivory being thrown back into The Abyss, it would be cool to have that throwback. 

Other things:

-I used the mcc 16 teams for the mcc but modified them slightly to get Ivory's team. 

-I had a blast writing it.

-A surprising amount of chapters were written in a pitch black room at like 10pm.

-I wish I didn't name Ivory's dad Futuro - I really dislike that name now.

-I still love "Never Mess With A God" - Sam getting bullied by Plumpkin :)

-I also still love "Clocks Go Brr" - good memories
