Tapping on Delilah's bedroom window caught her attention as she practiced how to twirl her arrows through her fingers, looking over she saw movement through her netted curtains.
Getting up her shirt that once belonged to her father fell down to her thighs as she walked over, kneeling in front of it she lifted the netting and faced with a boy from school.
Connor was the typical popular boy, who everyone knew, everyone liked. Getting popular for being into sports, he had the looks, the hair, the grades oh and the attitude. It most likely helped that his older siblings were popular too and made sure their younger brother was known to everyone before they left.
Definitely not the type to hang around with an isolated girl like Delilah Avery Carver, now Delilah could be classed as typical, or she could be classed as anything but that, she had Angie, and the two were practically set for life just being them. They didn't need anyone else, why would they?
They were complete opposites, Delilah and Connor were, yet the boy could never seem to get enough of her, the two had never spoken in school until their third year, the cliché story of Connor and his group of friends deciding to prank the quiet girl, make her fall for him, get what he wanted and then he would shut her out, tell everyone about it.
That happened for two years, although by the second year, Connor actually enjoyed being with Delilah almost every day, he had told his friends he didn't want to do it anymore, he found her Interesting, even the smallest of things she did.
His friends would tease him for it, how he fell for the quiet girl who speaks to no one unless spoken to, but he didn't care, she was the only person who took her time to listen to him, she even taught him how to shoot an arrow, the right way.
He broke her heart when he came clean about the bet, his friends were getting out of hand, telling him they would tell her, or even the school if he didn't leave her alone, spending most of his time with her meant he had been losing track of practice, and hadn't been mixing with his friends, keeping their reputation.
The two had only spoken a few words after she had told him to never speak to her again, a note she found in her locker the day before she was standing Infront of him made it clearer as to why he was there, "You didn't show up." He spoke as he looked at her through the open window, her arms now crossed over her chest as she rolled her eyes "I thought ripping the letter up Infront of you would have been a clear enough message to say no." She mumbled not moving from her spot, she knew he would want to come in, she didn't want that though.
Unfortunately for her, it didn't stop him from climbing through and standings Infront of her, their body's touched as she felt the cold night breeze radiate off his body, he stared down at her his eyes taking in the dark bags under her eyes, her lips chapped with specks of red dried blood alone them from where she had bitten them, dried ink on her cheek from where she had gotten pen on her hand before rubbing an itch.
"I like verbal communication." He spoke as the two held eye contact, he wanted to stay like that forever knowing he could look into her honey covered eyes, but she pulled away shaking her head "Yeah well I like people who don't lie to me and play with my feelings." She smiled sarcastically at him as she sat on her bed placing a pillow over her lap.
"Just go to your party Connor, everyone's probably looking for you." She spoke putting her arrow into its box under the bed, he just watched her, and she knew this, growing agitated she shook her head looking at him "What?"
He shrugged sitting on the edge of the bed, the ring on his finger twisting as he played with it, "I hurt you-" Delilah snorted cutting him off from his sentence "You only just realised?" She said looking at him again, Connor shook his head "I tried calling it off, I called it off when it came to our second year of knowing each other, I was- I am infatuated with you Carver, I know I messed up trust me I know. I didn't realise that- I didn't realise that I'd start to like you." He spoke quietly as his sentence got longer.
"No, no Connor, because if I hadn't bugged you wondering what was the reason for you to leave me in the dark all of a sudden you wouldn't of told me, how long was it going to take huh? Were you just going to wait until word got out that I'd been fucked over by you? Wait until I was humiliated Infront of everyone? Were you going to wait until I'd sent you pictures or had fucked you? You're sorry that you told me, not because you liked me. I-I trusted you god damn it I bought you to meet my family! You broke me Connor and I can't just-" Delilah's head was pushed back against her headboard as Connor kissed her, they'd kissed before, but never like this, this kiss was slow, affectionate.
Sitting back Connor lightly pulled the girl onto his lap, her thighs resting each side of his own. Delilah eyes finally closed as she relaxed into his touch, the warmth of his hands on her clothed waist, her hands rested on his cheek and neck as they pushed against one another. His lips trailed down to her jaw kissing in lightly- "Avery? Can I come in?" Her father knocked on the other side of the door, the teens pushed away from each other, hearts pounding as Delilah pouted to the window, "Hold on dad just changing!" Delilah yelled as she heard the man exhale deeply.
"Go go!" She whisper yelled at the boy who had a grin on his face, climbing out of the window he turned back to her as she knelt down ready to close it "Wait wait" he whispered, pressing his lips to hers once more before climbing down the side of the house.
"Okay I'm decent!" She yelled a ghost smile on her lips as she looked at her father.
