Chapter eleven

"Resurrection Z"

"Anybody else worried about Mr. Sunshine out there?" Doc said as the group sat around the back of the truck, watching the bitten man as he relieved himself in the field further away from them.

"I know, he's looking worse." Garnett said as he leant back against the truck crossing his arms over his chest, "Come on guys, give him a break, it's the apocalypse, none of us look our best." Addy spoke as Delilah walked around the truck her hair tied up as she leant against the side of the truck beside her older sister, "Like one long bad hair day." She shrugged looking over at the balding man, "Talking about hair, what's with all the bald patches?" Mack asked as everyone turned to look at Murphy again.

"maybe that vaccine is like Zombie chemo?" Cassandra spoke as she looked out at the man, "Or it isn't working." Delilah grinned as she waved at the balding man who had turned around slowly, everyone looked away making it look like they weren't watching, yet the youngest of the group shrugged and waved at him, laughing as he shook his head looking away from them yet again.

"What do you think Doc?" Garnett asked the old bearded man as he shook his head "I think the z's are looking better than him at this point." He spoke softly as Addy took her younger sisters hair out from the greasy bun and had started to plait it "Please make sure it's out of the way so no one will grab it." The girls whispered as Addy stopped looking at her younger sister in sadness.

"Pit-stops over, let's get moving." Mack yelled to the man who had started to walk back through the field, "I have a ginormous bladder. Sue me."

The pale brunette hopped into the back of the truck beside her sister, the girls bow laying on the floor as she looked at it. "I don't know how much use I have left with this bow." Delilah said as her sister and the raven haired boy looked at her, "Hey, I'm sure we will find something just as good, alright?" Addy reassured the girl who nodded taking the knife out of her boot as she twirled it around her fingers.

"You guys still think that Province town is still up and running?" Mack asked as he checked the bullets in his holster, "I hope so, I'm in need of a shower. " Addy sighed as she looked off into the field seeing a z far in the distance, "Just hope it hasn' turned into all the other places we've been to." Delilah piped in as the truck started to move down the road, the two younger adults stood looking over the roof of the truck, their guns in hand ready for any inconvenience that might happen whilst they were driving, yet the only thing to happen was a walker standing with a head in it's hand as it grunted looking at the car, "Ten." Delilah said as she loved for the boy to shoot both of the walkers "One thousand, five hundred and fifty four." He said as he glanced at the brunette beside him who smiled.

Their trip down into Kansas hadn't been long as they turned a left into an old estate looking place, their eyebrows twitched as they looked at all the signs "Prepare to surrender all weapons before entry? Are you kidding me?" Delilah scoffed shaking her head as she pushed her knife into her bra making the raven haired boy look at her with wide eyes as she grinned at him "Yes?" She asked as the boy passed his slingshot to her, "Think you can squeeze that somewhere?" He mumbled looking down at her as she took it from his hands that too going down her bra as the couple laughed from behind them.

Driving forward the truck came to a stop as a woman walked out with a shotgun pointing it at the eight, and a man coming from beside her with a rifle, "Stop right there! This is a private compound. I'm gonna have to ask you to turn around and go back the way you came." She spoke as Garnett held his arms up in surrender walking towards the people, "I'm looking for Major Williams, Joe Williams." He said as Delilah looked at Warren who shook her head, "And who are you?" The woman asked as she looked around Garnett at the rest of the group who all looked at the three who stood pointing weapons at them.
