"Hold it right there." Warren said as the group held up their guns ready to shoot at the people who were coming up the stairs. Delilah's breathe caught in her throat as she saw who the two people were, putting her weapon down instantly "Oh, it's the wonder twins."
A sense of relief washed over the girl as she saw her older sister stood behind Mack, yet the brunette was angry that they had left her for so long, "Hey!" Addy grinned hugging Warren smiling at the girl who stood behind the woman, her own sister, who didn't return the smile, she just bit her lip stopping herself from throwing a fit of anger against Addy.
"Never, I mean never, ever in a million years, truly did think I'd see you guys again." Doc spoke as he pulled Addy and Mack into a hug, leaving just one last person who hadn't hugged them, yet Mack looked at Addy shrugging his shoulders before turning to Warren "Citizen Z send you guys?" He asked as the group nodded "yeah." The group murmured.
"He told us there was food and somebody named Chester who could help us out." Cassandra spoke gently slipping her hand into Delilah's, the older brunette stood In front of the girl, the two had made a great bond over the past few weeks.
"Yeah, he told us that too. We're starting to have our doubts." Mack said his voice dazed as he spoke, "Okay, well he should be, you know what, right down there." Warren spoke as she grabbed her gun and walking down the cold, dark alleyway filled with tubes and wires.
"Why aren't you talking to us?" Delilah heard Mack whisper to her, the pair were closest to the back of the group. "I don't want to speak to you." She mumbled quietly as she followed behind 10k who kept glancing back at the girl, unsure if he should say anything to her.
"Alright then tell me at least, what happened to Cassandra's leg?" The man asked as Delilah looked at her two friends, the dark raven haired boy helping Cassandra walk as she hobbled along, "She got it caught on barbed wire, it's all infected." Delilah said, pushing her hair out of her face. "Oh." Was all Mack replied with, with a faint sigh Delilah kept walking, occasionally looking behind her, in case a Z had stumbled over.
Walking down the corridor of the huge abandoned building, Warren knocked harshly on the metal door, "Hello?" She spoke before opening the door and entering before the others, one by one everyone walked in, "Well I guess we found Chester." Addy spoke twirling her bat around her fingers as she walked over to the dead man who layed slanted with a bullet hole through his head. "Hello Chester." Addy said too enthusiastically for everyone's liking as Mack shrugged "She's been like this for a while." Was all the blonde said as he looked around, Delilah walked over whilst her sister inspected the desk In front of the dead man. "He kind of looks like Santa." Delilah spoke through the silence, cause a small eruption of laughter to come from the group.
That was before Addy started to beat the man's face in with her spiked bat, causing Delilah to jump slightly pulling her sister away "Addy stop! What are you doing?" The girl yelled slightly pulling her sister away as she chucked the bat onto the floor letting it roll towards the group, who stood staring at the red headed girl in fear and astonishment. "Sorry." Was all Addy mumbled, pulling herself away from her sister to grab her blood soaked bat once more.
"Chester? Have you got them yet? Have you got my team?" Citizen Z spoke, through a hung up radio, a small smile spread on Delilah's pale face as she looked over at the raven haired boy who already stood watching her with a smile. Walking over 10k rested his hand on Delilah's back rubbing his thumb gently against the girls clothing.
"Hello anyone?" He spoke again, walking through the double doors the group all huddled into a semi big room as they huddled against the table, looking up they all looked at the Camera "Warren?" He spoke through the radio, "Hey, hey, hey! Up here!" He yelled in excitement as the group all looked up at the screen seeing him grinning from ear to ear.
"It's your old pal, Citizen Z. Oh, it's everyone. Hi, everyone. Hi! Addy looking gorgeous as always." He said making Delilah let out a short laugh as Mack let out a small grumble from beside his girlfriend.
"Oh, hey uh, you must be Mack. Huh, kinda thought you'd be taller." He said as Delilah let out a long loud laugh, the sound making everyone in the room smile, even Mack, the group hadn't heard the girl laugh for a while, the long gazes and short attitude getting their replies as they realised what was going on with her. She'd been abandoned by her only family.
And she wasn't going to forgive them anytime soon.
"Hey Murphy, squeeze in so I can see you." CZ said as Doc moved to squeeze in between 10k and Delilah, making their hands fall apart, only after letting go had they realised that they had been holding hands for who knows how long whilst in the room.
Laughing anxiously 'CZ' nodded as he looked at Murphy "Looking good, sir."
"So good news, California's back. They are alive and online, well most of the, but they're getting ready for you, and the dream is alive. The mission is a go, thanks to yours truly. That's good news right?" He spoke as the group all looked up at the man on the screen.
"Good news would be a package of Oreos." 10k spoke as Delilah nodded, "And some Doritos." The girl added as the man nodded slowly "Oh, oh yeah, right. Sorry. Down the same hall, next door on your left. Should be everything that you need." CZ said as the group heard his keyboard clicking as he typed.
"I can't tell you how good it is to see you all again." He spoke with a smile as Doc nodded with a wave "Yeah. Good to see us too, kid." Before everyone started to walk out the room, "Hey, what is this place anyway? " Mack asked looking up at the screen. "CIA black site. " He replied as Mack nodded "Oh, like waterboarding, zero dark thirty, black site? " He asked as CZ nodded looking at Addy through the camera. "Yeah I thought it would be obvious from what Chester told me. " He said as a small smile lifted on his lips as he saw Delilah look up at him, "So where is the old crackpot anyway?" He asked as Delilah shook her head sadly, "Oh man. Bummer."
