10:03 amSaturday morning and we were handling our usual responsibilities, working in the restaurant while Kyran and Jeremiah were supposed to be with our daddies but they were here... eating with them and of course kinsley had a lot to say about that
"You know this is not the 1950's. Y'all are not paying customers so y'all should be fixing your own food cause I am not a housewife" kinsley ranted as we finished sitting their plates down
"Well you obviously ain a good server either cause I asked for salt 5 minutes ago" Jeremiah told her and they all laughed. She reached in her pocket and tossed a salt packet at him, hitting him upside the forehead
"Where you get a salt packet from?" I asked, being that we don't even have them here
"It fell out of my purse this morning and I put it in my pocket cause I was lazy but I'm glad I kept it. Now enjoy your salt"
And with that she walked off. I let out a soft laugh and shook my head, catching Kyran look at me which was very much distracting so I cleared my throat and ran my hand across my slicked back ponytail while peeping his daddy look back and forth between the both of us and plaster a slight smirk
"Aye, butterscotch" Jeremiah called out and I knew he was talking about me. I rolled my eyes before looking at him while his daddy laughed
"Aye ima use that one"
"Y'all bout to stay off my daughter" my daddy defended me and they both looked at him
"Don't even worry about it daddy, they just better remember who handling the food they're eating" I told him while walking off
"We know who she get that from" one of them said while I went straight to the back. Kinsley was busy fixing someone else's food so I leaned against the counter watching her
"We always working.. HARD. While they just slack off and do whatever they want and their mommas treat em like they just worked a 12 hour shift. I hate boys"
"Well Kin. That's what happens when you're mommas boys with carefree dads. You pretty much do whatever you want" I shrugged "but on the bright side of life, I heard you got into Parsons"
Kinsley started smiling "And did"
"Well I'm very proud of you. And that means we'll be in New York together"
"Yes!! becoming successful, rich and famous. Then in like 40 years we'll be chilling on a big ass yacht telling our grandkids all of our stories"
"Grandkids?" I questioned "you might have grandkids but I doubt I will. I don't even know if I want kids"
"You say that now, but you seem like the type of person that would be a great mom" kinsley said as she looked at me "I tell Kaleia that too"
" Speaking of her, where is she?"
"Home. She been helping Auntie out with the new baby while her stepdad works extra shifts to cover the hours he missed from being at the hospital"
"Oh she had the baby?"
Kinsley laughed "four days ago. Where you been?"
"Well I didn't know. Kaleia ain talk to me in days"
She sighed "Kaleia really is going through a lot and her break up made it no better. Just give her that space she need for now and she'll come around"
She picked up the plate she just fixed and walked off, purposely bumping shoulders with Kyran as he came to the back and over to me. I rolled my eyes as he smiled
