It was Valentine's Day so just like every year, my parents ditched us to go out of town for a couple of days just so they can go be nasty and come back threatening us with the possibility of my momma being pregnant with a new baby which they were the only ones to find funny
Since they were gone me, Kyran and McKenna were stuck in the house together but I didn't feel like staying there so I went to my grandmas house for the night
"So when was the last time you spoke to Hendrix?" She asked while I crossed my legs in the chair I sat in, biting into my wing.
One of the best parts of being at my grandma's house was she had us absolutely spoiled so if I wanted anything, I got it so because I wanted pizza she made it happen
"Me and him stayed on the phone for a while yesterday. I miss my brother living in the house with us"
"I bet y'all do. But you'll be out soon too, you and Kyran. Then itll be just Kenna until she graduate"
"Most likely I'll still be home. It seem like my daddy want me to stay there forever"
"Do you feel like that because he won't let you go all the way out of the country for school?" She asked with a grin and I sighed
"That's my dream school and he know it. He knew this the ENTIRE time so why wait until now to kill my dreams"
"Kinsley your daddy been telling you you wasn't leaving this country on your own once he realized how serious you were about going to that school"
I sat back "but if Kyran wanted to go to the other side of the world I'm pretty sure they wouldn't care"
"Your momma... that's a hell no. She would mop all the water out of the ocean before she let that boy go that far. And as far as your daddy... it's a maybe"
"So how come he gets a maybe but I'm a straight up no?"
She laughed a little "kinsley.. honestly, when have you ever shown that you were maybe material? Let's be honest?"
"See y'all just think Kyran is this perfect little Angel when he's just as worse as me"
"Kinsley we all know Kyran is far from perfect. Well your momma refuses to accept it but we all know. But this difference is 1... Kyran doesn't try to sneak and lie.And I tell y'all daddy all the time, out of all four of y'all Kyran is the most like him. Kyran is straight forward but also respectful about it and if you don't like it then you just won't like it because he said what he said. And that's how your daddy is" she told me before she continued to talk, wearing a smile on her face
"I remember when we first met Dimitri... That dinner was a night I'll NEVER forget. Your grandad almost had a heart attack talking to him and your dad sat there, answering every question truthfully and respectfully"
"So what made him wanna have a heart attack if my daddy was truthful and respectful"
"Sometimes being truthful is not good"
"What he said that was so bad?"
"Kinsley, sweetheart, the man your daddy is today is the COMPLETE opposite of how he was back then. And I say that proudly. In and out of jail, selling drugs, and that's just the least of it"
"But my momma obviously still dated him"
"She did"
"Is that why he cut her off? Cause he hated my daddy that bad?"
"Yeah and no. I say that because that was basically the start of it all but it was mainly because he saw that karma was starting to find herself on her own"
