Peter's POV

I couldn't keep my mind off of the Midnight Spider for most of the night, and then most of the day already. Unfortunately, thinking about what had happened had kept me up into the early hours of the morning and now I'm late for my mechanics class.

I didn't really need to do this class. I already understood most of what we were doing, but I needed some more credits and an easy class to pass. But my 'job' as Spiderman was not making it very easy.

I looked at my watch and realize it said I was 30 minutes late. At least I didn't have too long until the class was over. I opened the door to the lecture hall and realized I may have pushed open the doors a little too hard.

"Nice to finally see you, Peter," Doctor Jennings called up from the front of the class. I gave a small wave and looked for a seat to sit down in. Most of the seats in the back were empty, but I didn't want to look like a total asshole.

My eyes swept across the remaining seat and I saw one next to the girl who was going to 'tutor' me. She seemed friendly enough so I went to sit down next to her.

I sat down and she jerked her head up at me with slight alarm in her eyes. "Woah, sorry to startle you. Is it okay if I sit here?"

She gave me a small smile and nodded, but now had an unreadable look in her eyes. She turned her head back to the lecturer and continued listening. I started to get out my things and felt a slight headache start to form right above my neck. I must've not gotten enough sleep last night.

We sat next to each other in silence for the rest of the lesson. Once Dr. Jennings finished her lecture. Lilah immediately started packing up. I looked up to where she was standing, "Hey,  I have a decently freed-up schedule, but I know you don't. When do you want to do the little 'tutoring' thing?"

She thought for a second while continuing to put her laptop and books in her bag. " I have something this afternoon, so how about this evening?"

"Sounds good. I'll even bring some pizza as a thank you."

"Awesome," She gave me a small smile. "See ya around."

She walked out of the aisle, up the stairs, and out of the lecture hall. I swear had heard that phrase around somewhere. I eventually made my way out the hall myself, and then realized something slightly alarming. I made it sound like a date!

I hit myself in the head with my palm. She didn't seem uncomfortable with it, but I didn't want to seem like that douchebag who only gets help with studying to get in a girl's pants. Why can't I think through what I say?!
