Three years later
Madeline's dress crossed over her chest and upper arms in a lace pattern. Her tail connected to the straps around her arm like a cloak down to the ground behind her. Her torso was covered in lace and silk as the dress fell slim in her petite body. Alexander stood in front of her wearing a sash and a dark green overcoat.
Elise watched her queen walk down the aisle. She smiled, and even cried. Everyone cried. They had waited for so long, and worked so hard to get this day. Now it was here. Madeline was marrying the love of her life.
The ceremony had come and gone and during the party everyone danced in a circle and smiled. The children ran through the crowd playing. Oriana and Asterin had kids who adored each other. Madeline couldn't wait to give them their new playmate and talked about it often.
Oriana and Ignacio had twins, Alexei and Liliana. Asterin and Dietrich officially adopted Isabella through the church as their own, and had a little one of their own, a little boy Mathias. To Dietrich's happiness he had bright white hair like Asterin, but to her happiness he had the warmth smile of his father.
Madeline and Alexander danced alone on the floor as they smiled. Asterin drank in the corner with Oriana as the boys talked.
"I can't believe it took three years to get here." Asterin whispered.
"Me too, though through all the changes the world was facing it makes sense. Those two will be just as strong as we all are." Oriana responded.
"Oh I agree." Asterin smiled.
"What are you guys doing over here?" Madeline walked over.
"Talking about you." Oriana shrugged.
"Come Alexander and I want to show you all something."
The six walked through the halls smiling and giggling holding goblets as they walked. They walked into a large room as they saw what they were mentioning. A large series of paintings sat in front of them.
They were portraits of them all. Portraits portraying their lives, and friendship. "We have been together since the beginning and we never gave up." Madeline started.
"And now we are all finally having our happy ending."
"May our reign be long and eventful." Asterin raised her glass.
"May we live long and reign strong." Oriana raised her own.
"Long live our reign." Madeline finished.
Together they smiled as they wrapped their arms around each other. They stood there admiring the paintings together as they sat in silence. "Do you guys ever think that we'd be back to where we were in the beginning?" Dietrich spoke first.
"No, but I am glad we did." Alexander nodded.
"There's a lot of things for us out there. We have a lot ahead of us." Ignacio spoke. "We have countries to lead, and people to feed. Though as long as we are together whatever comes our way we will make it through."
"That's all that really matters anyways." Oriana spoke.
"I agree." Asterin added. "We all have multiple countries to rule and together we're all family."
"You're drunk already?" Dietrich looked at her.
"No." She shook her head. "Yes."
The others laughed. "Alright you let's get you to bed." Dietrich shook his head. "See you guys in the morning."
"We should get to bed ourselves." Oriana smiled. "We should also find the kids, they're probably with Charles and Bash." They smiled.
Madeline and Alexander were left alone. She held him closely. Her head rested on his shoulder. They sat there with the fire of the torches warming up their bones. Alexander turned to kiss her head and she smiled.
"I love you." He said.
"I love you more than anything." She looked at him.
"What do we do now?" He asked.
"We start with this." She leaned up to whisper. "I'm pregnant."
"Really!" He cried out. He picked her up and spun her around. "Then we better get back to the celebration and celebrate some more with a better intention.
She laughed. "Not yet. I just want to stay here and lay with you for a little while longer."
"Anything for you."
