Chapter Four

Amity's POV

I placed the last of my clothes in the dresser. After an hour, Princess Victoria had brought Lilith to me and helped me find my room. I'd never felt so embarrassed in my life. Getting lost, running into Princess Luz. It was a whole nightmare that I wish I could wake up from.. But, I guess meeting Princess Luz wasn't so bad.. the princess was actually super nice. Even offered to take me out with her friends. I had heard from a maid that the princess had put Boscha in her place, which in my opinion served Boscha right. If the girl would get off her high horse, she wouldn't get into situations she didn't know how to handle. Kinda wish I had been there.

Knock Knock Knock.

I flinch. I look at the door, quietly, I strolled to the door, opening it to see Lilith. I blinked at her.

"Uh. Hi." I said, baffled.

Lilith nodded in greeting(I swear that's all she does). "The Queen and Prince Hunter are returning home from their trip."

I part my jaws slightly in confusion. "I.. Okay. What does that have to do with me?"

"Your presents is requested.. By the queen herself."

I stare, jaw hanging. "I-" I grip the bottom of my dress, suddenly I was nervous. "Alright." My voice was tight.

Lilith turned, gesturing me to follow as she walked. I stepped down, shutting the door, and chased after the captain.

I stand at the steps. I'm gripping my dress like I'm trying to choke it. I gulp some air in. It's like this nervousness just hit me out of nowhere. I watched the road.. Just waiting for that black car to appear. I was terrified to meet the queen.. What if she didn't like me..

I heard the door open behind me. I glanced back seeing Princess Luz and Princess Victoria. The two were chatting before stopping, mid conversation. I wasn't really paying attention to what they were talking about, I assume it was about what Princess Luz said to Boscha.

"Hey Amity."

I flinched. I looked at Princess Luz, wide eyes. "Oh." I quickly let go of my dress, realizing I had wrinkled it I reached down to straighten it out, anything to avoid conversation.. Not that there was anything wrong with the Princess.. I actually enjoyed having her around.. But... I didn't want to get attached.. Especially since it's likely I wouldn't see her after I leave.

I stood back up, brushing off any dirt or grime that might have gotten on my dress. I held my hands together in front of me.. My hands twitched not having anything to grab on to. "You must have missed your mother." I stated calmly as I could.

Princess Luz nods. "Yeah, but it's not uncommon for her to leave a day or two." She says. She then peers down at my hands. Her eyebrows curved.

"Hey, you feeling alright?" She asked.

I glanced at her, baffled. Normally most people ignored if I was twitchy, and I didn't mind it that way. I am just able to spit out the words. "Oh. I'm fine." I look away, suddenly feeling more nervous than before.

Princess Luz moves a bit closer. "Are you sure?" She asks.

I suck in a sharp breath, trying my best to ignore her.. I don't want to ignore her... I can feel her gaze on me.. I can see her face, adjusted to fit her worried expression..

"I'm just nervous." I finally say. "I'm nervous to meet your mother, the queen. You know. It's not every day you meet your queen." I admitted.

Luz expression changes to something I can't read. She has a thoughtful look on her face, her eyebrows furrowed, corner of her mouth were tight. She then perked. Turned to me a symptomatic smile on her face, her hand is being held out.
