Luz's POV

I sat in the dining room alone.. The radio is turned up... There's yelling and arguing.. The Region of Divine. It is known as the wealthiest of the regions but also known for It's racism. Their Queen, Queen Diamond, refuses to associate with our Region.. Region of Isle, due to It's royal family... My family, not being white. It's stupid, overall idiotic.. We produce crops and a lot of animal products to ship out to the other Regions, and Queen Diamond refuses it. She's going to get her subjects killed one day.

"Luz?"

My name and a tap to the shoulder make me flinch. I look back.. It's Amity.

"Amity. You scared me." I chuckled. I brought my arm up to my face, wiping away the sweat that dripped from my forehead.

Amity parted her jaw to speak, but no words came out. "Luz, you're sweating bullets!" She gasped. She reached into the pocket of her shorts and pulled out a handkerchief, she reached over and wiped the sweat away.

My face grew hot having her close to me. "Oh.. Yeah.. The radio.. Had some.. Intense things." I murmured, reaching behind me to turn down the radio.. Every time.. I swore every time I spoke to the brown and blonde haired woman it got harder and harder to speak to her.

Amity pulled the handkerchief away and placed her hand on my forehead. "Are you feeling alright? You feel hot."

I shrugged. "I little dizzy, but fine overall."

Amity placed the handkerchief down, she placed her hands on my cheeks and leaned over, kissing my forehead lightly...

My could feel my face light up. My heart sped up and my gut churned.

"My god! Luz you have a fever!" She gasped.

I hint of disappointed lingered in me. "A fever?" I echoed.. Now that she mentioned it.. I wasn't feeling all too well.. I felt dizzy and cold despite sweating pinballs.

"Come on." She helped me up.

"Where are we-"

"You're going to lie down."

I didn't argue.. I was tired. I wanted to honestly flop over on the floor and sleep.

Amity took my hand, glancing back every few seconds to make sure I hadn't died on her..

We tackled the stairs one step at a time.. I felt like a child again.. Having someone helping me every five minutes.

Upon reaching the top of the first stairs, I was exhausted. I leaned against Amity. I don't think I had ever been so tired before.

Amity gently cooed at me.. telling me a mixture of, "you'll be okay", "I'll take good care of you", "Vous êtes en sécurité maintenant .." I had no idea what that last one meant, but it made me feel better.. like I'd be well taken care of..

I woke up to something cold on my forehead. I blinked my eyes open slowly.. I was tucked under a blanket in my bed.. next to me on the night stand was a bucket, and Amity was sitting in the arm chair, a blanket on her.. She was sleeping so soundly and peaceful..

Despite being under a blanket, I was bitterly cold.. I forced my jaws shut, to refrain them from chattering.. through the window I could spot a dim scarlet red light that painted the terrain and a bit of my bedroom red. Last time I saw the sun, it was at It's highest peak.. Now it was setting? How long was I out for?
