Chapter Eight

Amity's POV

I looked in the mirror. Tonight the queen was having a guest over. She only told us that this guest was a close friend of Hunter. I assumed this dinner was mainly planned for Queen Camilla to meet Prince Hunter's girlfriend.. Made me wonder if that would be me and Luz one day..

Me and Luz have been trying to plan an outing, but neither of us want to be swarmed with paparazzi.. Nothing was official yet. Plus, Luz has been so stupidly busy that we just didn't have the time at the moment.

Knock Knock Knock

I looked at the door. "Yes?"

The door cracked open, a cute Latina stuck her head through the crack of the door.

I grinned. "Well look who it is."

Luz just grinned. She entered the room fully. "Hi." She walked over.

She stood in front of me. "You ready for this afternoon?" She asked, her hands fidgeted. Actually, overall she seemed fidgety. Her eyes kept flickering from my hands to my eyes.

I reached out and took her hand in mine. "Yeah. I am." It felt weird to hold her hand. I knew we both planned on dating but it was still weird.. It was also kinda scary..

She stopped fidgeting, and just kinda glanced at my hand before smiling. "Me too." She gave my hand a light squeeze. "You look good by the way." She said.

I looked away, my cheeks were growing hot. I reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind my hair. "Thanks.. You too."

We started towards the door. The silence was filled with chattering and possible date plans.

"I know it's cheesy, but I wanna go horseback riding!" She grinned.

I scoffed-laughed. "I would fall off!"

She looked at me with a sweet grin. "Then ride with me.. I know how. Or I could teach you." The excitement kept building.

I looked away.. I kinda liked that idea.. Riding horses and her teaching me.. Sounds like a fairytale. "Maybe." I chuckled.

We approached the dining hall. I looked at Luz, she was focused on the dining hall.. I stopped.

Luz looked back at me, surprised that I stopped. "Amity? You okay?"

I felt my face grow hot. I looked away. "Y-yeah. I just. I wanted to do something... Before we went in."

She faced me.. "Yeah? What is it?" She smiled.

Now or never. I told myself. I reached up quickly, pecking her on the lips. As soon as I did it, o regretted it. I backed up, her smiled was gone, she seemed shock and surprised, her face was a bright red.

"I'm sorry, I just felt like it was-"

Luz's shocked emotion was still there, but a light smile was on her face, her hand covered her mouth.

I clenched my fist.. Worried for a reaction.. I shut my eyes tightly, suddenly I felt arms wrapped around me, my feet were lifted from the ground. I opened my eyes. Luz put me down and backed away, her hands on my shoulders.
