I saw you on the other side of
the room sitting alone. You saw me noticing you.
A polite smile and wave later,
we were connected.With that meeting,
two different lives were lived.I was your love,
your heart,
your first kiss,
your light in the storm.I gave you a new name.
I was yours, but not for forever.
You were my reminder of what love could be,
the one who saw beauty in me,
my first kiss.A summer romance--
young, powerful, and bound by time.In the fall,
we started to fade.
I lost you and I didn't know if I
deserved to have you back.Winter came.
No trace of you was found.
You were gone.It was too late.
***
You only exist in my memories,
the one place where you are safe.
The only place where you can have
any future with me.I hope to remember your voice one day.
My Uri.
