Let me cater to you as I let
my life slowly crumble.
Don't worry, it's okay.You're more important.
I'll lie and say I'm fine and how
I always find a way out.Or through.
Whatever sounds convincing.
Let me comfort you and listen to you.
I could listen to you for hours, but I know better than to share with you.
You only have time for you.
I'll say my goodbyes and watch you
float away with a borrowed sense of strengthand purpose.
You won't give it back.
I won't ask for it back.
Lucky you.I fight the urge to admit I need help.
I put on a brave face and play a part years later.
I give you grace. I give you forgiveness.I give you me.
