I. — Alistair Practices

Lorelei dropped her bag as soon as she arrived inside the clubroom. Alistair, her childhood friend, turned towards her and lowered the book he was reading.

"Exhausted?" he asked, pulling a stool and sitting beside her. Lorelei nodded as she opened her Math notebook.

"Sir Jim bombarded us with assignments," she complained as she showed Alistair her notebook.

Her childhood friend took it from her and quickly answered the Calculus questions, then gave it back to her. Lorelei blinked her eyes, still in a state of shock.

"D-Did you just answer those in a couple of minutes?" she asked.

Alistair smiled. "It wasn't that hard. Now, you owe me something, Lori."

Lorelei's eyebrows knitted. She crossed her arms and nodded her head. "What is it?"

"I–I..." Alistair's cheeks flushed as he tried to avert his gaze from Lorelei's curious eyes.

"You...?" Lorelei tried to look into her friend's eyes as she leaned closer to him.

"I—ehem." Alistair raised his hand to stop Lorelei from getting any nearer. "I–I want to learn how to...k-kiss someone."

"WHAT?"

Lorelei jolted out of her seat as she stared at her friend in shock. Alistair smiled awkwardly despite the embarrassment he felt. Lorelei was about to ask something when they heard knocks on the door.

"Come in!"

Loki trodded in, clutching his laptop. He went straight to his swivel chair and opened the laptop.

"A case to solve?" asked Lorelei as she peeked from behind.

"Yes. Don't disturb me for a couple of minutes, thank you."

Lorelei went back to ask her friend. "Do you have a girlfriend, Ali?"

Alistair shook his head. "But after I kiss that someone I'd definitely have one."

"So, what favor can I give?"

Alistair mustered all the strength he has. "Do you know how to kiss someone? Can you give me tips?"

Lorelei chuckled and laughed. "Me? HA-HA-HA! You completely know that I'm NBSB. However, I think you just need to give that someone a peck. Think that'll satisfy her?"

"Be still."

"What—"

Her words were cut short when Alistair suddenly pressed his lips against hers. It was only for a brief moment, but Lorelei felt extreme butterflies fluttering in her stomach.

When their lips parted, Alistair smiled as he saw Lorelei's flustered face. Maintaining the distance between their face, Alistair held her cheek with his right hand.

"Were you satisfied, my dear Lorelei?"

P.S. Loki watched the drama unfold before him and commented "Smooth."
