KLAIRE
From the length of a gold coin to the height of a table, her feet pointed at the ground, hovering on top of it.
All in awe, I tried to get myself to touch her again, the pulsing surge of light ejecting out of her stings my skin like flames. The wind was trying to blow me over as my hair was thrown back away from her.
I held out my hand in front of me, trying to hide my face from the light that was her, seemingly blinded by her brightness, kneeling.
The heat coming out of her stings my palm as I covered my face with it. I can't force myself to touch her in any way.
"Thy mercy can only be spared through faith," I whispered to myself, hoping that something would answer from the other side, one that would help me reach Cathera. I didn't sense anything.
I spoke the words again before whispering a chant to myself "Thy mercy can only be spared through faith," I didn't feel any granting or hearing of my prayer. Even the essence of him hearing me did not feel like it always was before.
I murmured and whispered songs and rituals to myself, anything to increase the chance of being heard.
Lips pursed and a tongue danced, noises that stand between a humming bee and the hissing of a snake were heard coming out of my mouth. I continued to pray.
"Sercaus'ti re secruas'te liek' kiyauro, ehr' siucres'ta ud'no seicres'to mery'hcekh' ahr'tu no," I began.
"Casuror, ti'nohliam'anasuko'ku'hr uh'nauh," I sang to myself. As soon as I did I could feel the strength of the heat coming off Cathera sting more on my skin, I held out my hands in front of her while my head kept looking at the ground, afraid that I'd lose my sight from seeing the bluish white brightness that comes off her.
While looking down I tried to reach out to Cathera, hoping that the prayers I have will help me to touch her, sense her inside. She seemed lost in this surge of power coming out of her, and something in me wanted to help. I raised a kneeling leg to crawl toward her., resisting the urge to flee from her because of the pain of the heat, filling myself with the desire to touch her hand.
Tears fell from my eyes as I could feel the skin on my hands searing away. I grunted as I closed my eyes chanting for another prayer, resisting the pain while I raised another leg again as I crawled one step nearer. One by one, shortening a horse-long distance between me and Cathera.
"Sercaus'ti re secruas'te liek' kiyauro, ehr' siucres'ta ud'no seicres'to mery'hcekh' ahr'tu no, Casuror, ti'nohliam'anasuko'ku'hr uh'no," I repeated as I raised another leg, not of a whispered but of a stronger volume. I could feel the pain lodging deep inside of my hand holding out to her while speaking out the words. The pain seeped from my skin to the depths of the bones in my arms, it resonated like needles on a pin cushion, burrowed like worms inside of me. I yelled in further pain.
From the songs of Velsneare to the rites of Vergonian warlocks I whispered to myself. I wanted to stop her and communicate.
I chanted again, beginning to yell, "Sercaus'ti re secruas'te liek' kiyauro, ehr' siucres'ta ud'no seicres'to mery'hcekh' ahr'tu no, Casuror, ti'nohliam'anasuko'ku'hr uh'no," In another chant, I could feel the flesh in my fingers being burned away, I couldn't feel the tips of my fingers anymore.
There were still no replies. Is this excommunication? Am I excommunicated?
What if it's not his mercy anymore, but of a different god, her god?
I looked up at Cathera. Is it just her god that's here now?
I continued to take another step closer to her but an invisible force pushed me away. Another surge of energy emitted out of her, blasting me away for another time.
