In The Light// Station 19 x Reader

You ever tried going down a fire pole? It's not easy. There's no perfect way to get down. But there's definitely a wrong way. Hold on too tight, and you won't slide... you'll just hang there, dangling. Stuck. Nobody wants to get stuck. But Seattle's station 19's cap doesn't let them use the fire pole unless it's a pole day, which don't let that fool you, it never is.

"I know you all know this, but I'm still gonna say it... contain the flame and get the hell out!" Pruitt Herrera, the captian of station 19 spoke to each of the members of the team through his radio as they gathered supplies and grouped up to him

"Laminar smoke flow, small chance of flashover." Andy, the captains daughter stated fixing her oxygen tank "My guess is the back of the house."

"Hey, Gibson, you in a hurry? I haven't even given the plan yet" Pruitt stopped the man ready to get into the building

"Just ready to get in there, sir." Jack stopped walking and looked at him

"Miller, partner with Gibson."

"You got it." Miller jumped up ready to go fight the fire

"Andy, you, y/n and Bishop handle search and rescue." Pruitt looked at the three girls who nodded at each other before walking up to the building "And let's get somebody up on that roof to vent!"

"Entryway's clear" y/n called into her radio as they entered the building

Maya placed her hand on the wall feeling it for heat "left wall... check."

Andy placed her hand on the other doing the same "Right wall... check."

They walked further on checking the rooms "Living room... clear."

"Kitchen and dining room... clear!"

Y/n walked into a bathroom opening the door immediately spotting a girl on the floor, she picked up her radio pulling it to her mouth "We got somebody!"

"We got a conscious victim inside... gonna need medics standing by out front." Maya picked up her radio this time

Tiffany, the girl in the floor, coughed as she sat up "Thank God."

"Ma'am, can you walk?" Y/n placed a hand on the girls shoulder "We need to get you out of here."

"Hang on."

"Did she really just say, "Hang on"?" Maya looked up at Andy who was now the only one standing

"Okay, no. No, no, no, no, no." Andy stopped her as her and y/n picked up the girl by her arms taking her outside and laying her on a gurney

"Check her vitals. Watch her ABCs." Pruitt ordered, although it was a given

"BP's 80/60." Vic checked her vitals looking up at her cap

"Can you tell me your name?" Pruitt looked at the girl on the gurney

"Tiffany."

"Tiffany, this is very important. Was there anyone else inside with you?".he looked at the girl expectantly

She coughed before she forced out an answer "Charlie."

"Another possible victim inside, guys. Name's Charlie. Repeat..." Pruitt spoke to the three inside putting out the fire "Charlie."

A few minutes later Jack came out with Travis following him, and soon enough Dean walked out behind them holding a puppy

"Charlie!" Tiffany sat up taking him from dean

"Do you think he practices?" Andy looks at Maya and y/n "like, does he go to dog parks on his days off?"

"Yeah, cradle puppies under one arm, wipe away pretend soot with the other." Maya added
