Fossils suggest wildfires have been igniting for 420 million years. Right now. This planet is intensely flammable. Wildfires spark. And catch. And grow. Nearly impossible to control. So the question is, at what point do we stop trying to fight the fire that's spreading... and simply surrender to it?
"I'm really glad you snuck out of your place to sneak into mine like this..." Jack stated I'm between kisses as y/n straddled him but do we really still need to sneak?" She pulled back and looked at him "Dean knows. Travis knows."
"We had a funeral. It was incredibly sad." She spoke as her lips ghosted against his own "I need a palate cleanser for all the sad." As she said this the two of them fell back into the bed, they kissed a few times before she sat up again "we have to get up"
"Why" she sat up meeting her lips again
"We have to go to the station and get ready to leave" she pulled back with a laugh before standing up as she began to put her clothes back on
Jack groaned and stood up doing the same, when they were both do me they grabbed their bags and exited the room. Miller's head moved as he looked at the two
"You guys better be packed, 'cause we gotta go." He set the portable coffee cups infront of them "Here"
"You got in late last night." Jack said as they grabbed one each "I guess your date with Nikki went well"
"I need to sit down and talk with her " y/n joked going to the fridge pulling out something she could eat for breakfast "What if I don't like her once we actually talk? What if she's not good enough for you? Jack and I have opinions, you know, about whether or not someone's up to our standards."
"Nope" He shook his head at them "You do not get to have any opinions about that. Some things are for sharing, and some things are not. Oh, and, heads up, there's literally just a door between this room and yours. So, you guys should know. Sound carries."

"Where do you want our bags?" Jack asked as the three walked I to the band where Ben and Sullivan were
"Just put it right there." Sullivan answered as the other began to walk in, they placed their bags down
"Everybody. I have something to say." Sullivan got their attention "I've experienced wildfires in Montana. Skies will be clouded, ash will be falling, you will feel the heat for miles. The wind dictates the fire. But what dictates our survival is us, this team. Each of us, together. I know how intense it'll be in L.A. That's why I wanted to say to all of you now, while I can... Thank you, in advance, for facing what you're about to face. We lost our Chief and our friend, but we are all still here. Reporting for duty. And I'm very proud of that."
They nodded before seperating, Jack walked to y/n mentioning the conversation they had a few days ago "We should still let everyone know, right? About us? Everyone's gonna freak out. They always freak out."
"What's Sullivan gonna think? Is he gonna freak out?" Y/n asked furrowing her brows
"What? Okay, now I'm freaking out." Jack told her as vice passed the two going to Sullivan who walked closer to them
"Where's Travis?" Vic asked "I've tried calling, and no answer. Isn't he coming"
"He got himself into some trouble last night." Y/m answered obviously eavesdropping
"Trip's 22 hours long." Sullivan added "We're leaving in 10 minutes, with him or not."
"Is he okay?" Vic asked
~
"You and Gibson?" Vic asked absolutely shocked seeing as y/n had been oogling over him for years "You... You and Gibson."
