"Gibson, can you handle the fire report?" Maya handed it to him

"Like I do every shift?' He questioned with a chukle"Yeah, I got it. Thanks for asking."

"Here we go."

"Herrera, heads up." Miller threw the broom to Vasquez who was behind y/n, she attempted to dodge it but tripped falling

"It's Vasquez." He corrected as he ignored the broom now bending down and placing a hand in the girls

"You took Herrera's spot, you take her name." Miller shrugged before apologising to y/n

"Hey, you think us Latinos are all the same?" He asked miller as he brought the girl to her feet

"Thank you" she smiled at him politely, he smoked back as he gaze ingered in her for a second too long

"Hilarious." Miller gave him a blank face, Jack's jaw tightened as he looked over at the two

"Right. I forgot." He walked away "It's all PC-kumbaya-crap here on the A-shift."

"We prefer A-team, actually." Y/n spoke up brushing her hands off into her pants

"I'm sure you do." He rolled his eyes "While we're on the B-shift, we call you guys The View 'cause there's one
of everything." He pointed to Miller and vic "There's two of you, though."

"At what point are we allowed to hit this guy?" Jack asked eyeing him up and down

"Go ahead." Vasquez told him standing straight "I'd love an excuse to knock the boy band off your face."

"Hey! Guys!" Ben called out from the cat walk "Come see this."

"What fresh hell is this?" Vic asked fixing her shoes as they looked up at the tv

"I'm grateful to the Mayor for taking a chance on me. And with my proven track record with the Seattle Police Department, I'm confident I can bring Seattle Fire to new levels."

"New levels?" Travis questioned as they watched Dixon on the TV

"Seattle Fire's a fine institution, but I believe there's always room for improvement."

"He looks like a sex offender." Miller chuckled

"The new Chief is a cop?" Y/n asked watching the screen closer

"Former." Sullivan spike up making them turn to see chief dixon

"Cop, not sex offender." The man spoke up

"Um... I-I thought that was live." Miller said as if to apologize " 'Cause news... news conferences are us... usually live?"

"Chief Dixon?" Mays spoke up standing up and walking to him "Lieutenant Maya Bishop. Olympian. Gold medalist."

Y/n rolled her eyes as chief spoke again "Bishop, I've heard about you. I understand the department's failed to utilize you as an asset for public relations. I plan to change that."

"Lieutenant Jack Gibson, sir." Jack shook his hand

"And you're what? Silver medal?"

'Uh... n-" he went to correct the cheif

"You're the surgeon?" He interrupted turning to ben

"I am." He shook his head "Was."

"Heard you did good work at that incident at the bar."

"I was just doing my job, sir."

"Been on the job eight hours" Dixon chuckled "I've already heard that expression five times. Just keep your scalpel to yourself. I paid out enough lawsuits in the PD." They went quiet "That was a joke."
