Before you run into a fire, you have to try to understand its identity. What caused it? Where did it start? How do we put it out? So we observe, identify, extinguish, done. If only it were ever really that easy.
"She looks tense. I wish I could read lips." Maya said looking up at the office Andy was in
"This is the reporter from the Mayor's office?" Vic asked "Maybe they'll give her the key to the city."
"Well, whatever happens, we can't let her see us watching." Maya looked away
"Anybody talk to Gibson yet?" Y/n said as she walked up to the two girls with Ben and Dean
"Talked to me about what?" He asked walking in
"Hey!"
"Hey! Good to see you, man!" Ben walked to him letting his shoulder, Vic went and hugged him "You feeling good?"
"If there's anything you need, you know..." Vic said as everyone hugged him but Miller and y/n
"Thanks." He nodded looking at y/n as she hugged him quickly and backed up just as fast "Yeah, just as long as nobody says the word "skyscraper." It could, um, undo months of therapy." They watched him silently "Kidding! Lighten up, guys. All I wanna do is get back to work... the job, all right?"
They dispersed as Pruitt walked in as their captain for now
"I'm waiting in the Beanery, and I find you all out here?" Pruitt asked "Bishop, you and Andy are on Aid Car today Tanner, Hughes stock the rigs. Warren... hoses. Gibson, Miller tools maintenance."
"You know, I can handle the tools myself." Jack told him
"I'll join Herrera and Bishop." Miller nodded
"Aid Car 19, medical response, Hyde Park, 743 Memorial Parkway"
"Miller, go grab Herrera!" Maya yelled

"So what was that about you and Gibson" Vic asked as they stocked the trucks
"Wh-what do you mean" she asked confused
"I know you like him but your so.. " she began "weird around him"
"I'm not weird around him" she shook her head swallowing hard
"Your acting weird" Vic got closer "what happened"
She let out a sigh "fine okay, we kissed. you happy?"
"You and -" her eyes went wide "oh my god"
"What are you " 'oh my god' ing about" Jack asked walking into the room
"Oh-" y/n shook her head picking up the closest thing to her it being a flashlight "how flashlights actually work"
"How do they actually work" Jack looked at her confused
"I have no idea" Vic shrugged "that's the point"
This just made Jack even more confused

"Ah, got my workout in."Travis walked into the station
"Wow." Vic stated looking at him as he set down his vike
"Took my bike."
"I can see that." Y/n nodded
"Cycling takes a lot more than physical prowess, you know?" Travis told them "It's a whole mind-body sport."
"Oh, yeah. More than golf lessons or the Pilates or every other hobby you've picked up since you broke up with Grant?" Y/n asked him
"I haven't found my perfect cadence yet." Travis defended
