"Where is she?" Jack asked walking over to y/n, Vic, and travis
"With the brass." Travis answered as they looked back to see Maya talking with Sullivan and the cheif
" 'Yes, that was me on the Wheaties box. Thanks for noticing.' " jack said trying to be Maya
" 'Boy, you're awfully blond for a captain.' " Travis pretended to be dixon
" 'I'm tall. And I'm serious. And I haven't smiled since 1990.' " Vic stood up straight crossing her arms as if to be Sullivan
"Guys their gonna-" y/n went to ignore them and just what she was about to say was going to happen, happened
"Yeah. Nope." Vic said them turning away as the three in the office faced them
"-see you" y/n finished as she shut one of the compartment doors
"I'm just gonna say it. That chick was lieutenant for, like, five minutes." Rigo spoke up
"She was an Olympian." Ben defended
"Yeah, not a baby chicken." Vic spoke annoyance lacing her tone
"Well, it's better than an outside hire." Y/n shrugged
"No, it's great. It's great. It's Maya." Vic tried to sound reassuring "We love Maya."
"We do. We totally do." Travis nodded
"But do we love Captain Maya?" Y/n asked picking up O2 tanks
"Line up in the barn, ASAP." Maya's voice went over the intercom they did as asked before she walked out of the office and slid down the pole before walking to stand infrronr of them "If I learned anything from training for the Olympics, I learned that success isn't something you chase after. Success is something you cultivate. It's grown within. That's what we train for."
"Every moment of every day should be considered training. On your days off, at the grocery store, brushing your teeth. Every moment can be designed to make you a better firefighter. I get it. This is a big change, and yes, there are going to be some big changes, but I am asking for your trust." She continued her long speavh "I have worked beside you all for years. I know how this team functions. I know how to strengthen it. Our new fire chief is also committed to creating systems to help us better serve our communities. So, starting today, we will be patrolling high-risk areas in our aid car."
"You want us to patrol?" Jack asked "Like cops?"
"It's a health initiative. Gibson and Warren, you're on patrol today." She faced them The rest of you will join me in a mandatory group workout.
"Go team" Dixon spoke as Maya looked up at him
"Gym in five, people." Maya ordered before walking off
"Mandatory group workout?" Andy asked once Maya was out of earshot "Is she kidding?"
"Okay, it's a workout. It's a workout, okay?" Vic tried to persuade herself it was fine as she faced y/n "We work out every day."
"Hey, uh where's Miller?" Y/n asked looking around for him

Maya blew the whistle, y/n put down the mallet before going to do the burpees Maya forced them to do
"Okay! Push, push, push! Dig into it! Yes!" Maya yelled "Again!" Y/n went to the station next to her as Maya got in her face "It's not physical, it's mental. You're only thinking you can't, okay? It's all in your head." She blew the whistle in her face making her drop the hoses angrily
After a free more stations they we're layed on the floor of the station, Travis groaned as he leaned his head back on the truck "I think I pulled my eyelid muscles."
