"Give me the pendrive Y/n." He asked while his hands stayed afloat in the air, waiting for the device.
I look at him and thought what to do.
If he gets it, I'm somehow going against my duty, and losing, but if I don't give it, I'm either going to be tortured till death or something much worse."Y/n." He called again. I slide my hands in my back pocket and pulled out the device, placing it in his palm. Yoongi examined it and put it in the pocket of his jacket. "Where were you going?" He asked. "To Aunt Joanne." "Why?" "I wanted to talk to her, maybe she knows something." I couldn't say that Aunt Joanne wanted to see me because I don't want to pull her into trouble.
"Let's go then." He said and started walking. I groaned in annoyance and simply followed him.
Aunt Joanne was surprised to see Yoongi beside me, and hesitated to speak about anything.
I started talking to her to not let Yoongi get suspicious."Aunt Joanne. I wanted to ask about the night before the day Hyerii was…punished." I said and she nod. "Did any suspicious thing happen? Or someone acting unusual not their selves?" I questioned. She took a few moments to answer. "Aunt Joanne, it's okay. I just want to know the truth. Please." Yoongi requested.
"Nothing that unusual, but something was off." She said, while I tried my best to take note of everything in my mind. "Firstly, Daisy was lingering around the kitchen alot the day. She would barely show her face in the kitchen, but that day she came in the morning and making breakfast for Jimin." She said. "Was something missing in the kitchen?" Yoongi asked. "There are some liquids stored in the lower racks, which were missing for a while, but I thought someone was using them." "Are they in place now?" Yoongi asked and she nod. "Show me." He said and Aunt Joanne guided him to that rack and showed him the bottles that were missing.
The bottles that were missing were the kitchen cleaning stuffs.
"This is way obvious, she wouldn't make a mistake like this. This liquids have a very strong smell, no way the guards would not have been alarmed." I said. "Even the maids would know if anything was added while cooking." Aunt Joanne asserted.
Yoongi stared at his hands while Aunt Joanne looked back at me. I leaned against the kitchen counter, arms crossed over my chest.
"Does someone in this mansion have easy access to drugs? For personal use?" I asked Yoongi. "Yes. Some of them have medications prescribed to them for some trauma by the doctors." Yoongi said. "Boom. You got what was added to the food. Maybe someone brought in some other drug which is not in the list of those prescribed medications. Do you check the medicines that come inside this house?" I asked Yoongi. "I don't think we do. We didn't think that someone from inside the mansion would go to this extent." Yoongi said with grief.
"It's not your fault that you trusted them Yoongi." I said. "It is. I should've been more careful with who we trust. I was blinded by the trust, that I forgot, in this business we don't trust anyone blindly." He said and walked out of the kitchen. Just then Aunt Joanne held my hand.
"Y/n. You need to get out of here. I've already seen an innocent girl like Hyerii get…murdered here. I don't feel safe like I did before, and now I can't see someone like you go through the same thing." Aunt Joanne said. "Aunt?" I didn't know why she acted so different. "You heard me Y/n, I got a way of getting out of here. Look." She said and pulled me to the kitchen window.
On the outside trucks were unloading the food supplies and other essentials. I look back at her. "They bring in supplies every one month. You can go through the guards into those trucks and get out of here." "But-" She cut me off, by turning me around and pushing me towards the exit door. "Don't worry, it's easy. Just get through those guards without them seeing you. They don't check the trucks again after unloading. Also don't worry about the cctv cameras, there isn't anyone in the room. And until they find out that you're missing you'll be far away from here." She said.
I stopped and turned to her. "How do you know all this?" I asked. "We don't have much time Y/n. You need to go. By the looks of Yoongi, I am sure he'll double the security and if he does that you won't be able to get out, so just go." She was about to turn me around again, but I stopped her, and held her shoulders.
"Aunt Joanne. Even if I get out of here. Jimin will find me. Doesn't matter where I go. He will not leave until he gets rid of me or sees me in a condition which will satisfy his revenge." I reasoned. "But-" "It's okay Aunt. I can take care of myself, don't worry about me. Hmm?" I asked smiling at her worried face.
It's the feeling of motherly love that is making me smile. It is hard to believe that people like Aunt Joanne and my mother, Sierra, they could live most of their lives in a place like this. They don't deserve this.
Just then the trucks honk and one by one leaves the compound.
"This was the…only chance." She sighs. "It's okay." I say and made her sit down on a stool beside the counter. "Now tell me how do you about this…whole escape route?" I let out a small laugh as I spoke. "During my early adulthood, I just couldn't stay inside the house 24/7, so one day I got out of here, just like how I told you. It was adrenaline rush during the whole time, but it was more fun. More adventurous. The trucks came in twice before, so I came back in the same truck, luckily I was never seen. But after more trucks started bringing the supplies, I stopped going out." She explained.
"You've done some daring things Aunt. You're very cool than I thought you were." I complemented. "It's nothing like that. You know it would've been nice if you'd listen to me." "I said no, don't worry. Now I need to get back something that's mine." I gave a smile and got out of the kitchen.
Now how the hell will I get back that pendrive?
