A/n: so, this is going to be a flashback halloween chapter to fit with the last halloween chapter, but i promise it'll be worth your time.
It was Halloween, and you must be silly to think that the marauders, the school jokers, would pass up a once a year opportunity like this.
Remus looked around the room at his friends. They were all dressed up like teachers this year for Halloween. James was Albus Dumbledore, Peter was Filius Flitwick, Remus was Horace Slughorn, and Sirius was, of course, Minerva Mcgonagal.
Sirius had spent most of the evening getting ready, and was now flaunting his hat and strutting in that green dress of hers that he had paid a Hufflepuff girl to sew. He was holding an empty plastic wine glass yelling "turn him into a frog, not a teacup!" in a thick Scottish accent.
James kept playing with the long beard that they had gotten at a joke shop. Combing, brushing, spraying, moving, scratching. Anything you can think of, he did it.
Peter had been studying for the end of term exams, the season was approaching. His costume didn't take much to pull together, but it took a while to pull himself together. That mousy bloke was always worrying about something.
As for Remus, well, everything was going good. He already had the brown fluffy hair, as Slughorn was not very old, so he didn't need a wig. He just threw on a button up, khaki pants, and a button up grandpa sweater, and that worked just fine.
Remus combed his hair when he heard Sirius gasp.
"James... i ate a piece of moony's chocolate thinking it was mine..."
Remus stepped out, stone-faced.
"How long do you think i have left, prongsie?" Sirius asked, laughing.
"Ten"
Sirius turned around in shock and comedical horror.
"Ten what?"
"9, 8-"
"Okay! Okay! I'm sorry!" Sirius grabbed the witches hat off off his head and held it to his heart, leaning back slightly.
"How could you ever forgive me?"
He put his hand over his forehead, sighing dramatically.Remus grabbed his face and kissed his forehead.
"Like that. Do it again and i will kill you."Sirius brushed it off and laughed, turning away. Remus knew he was blushing.
"Okay, slughorn, are we ready?" James chimed in, holding his glasses in his hand, cleaning them off.
"James, why don't you just get contacts?" Peter sighed.
"Because contacts are scary, Pete. Excuse me for not wanting to touch my literal eyeball." James crossed his arms.
"How do you think the teachers are going to react?" Remus asked, twirling his wand in his hand. He sat down on his bed with one arm behind his head.
"minnie's gonna be horrified." Sirius laughed.
"Yeah she will, that's the point." Remus said, closing his eyes.
"Moony...don't fall asleep!" James' voice rang in his ears.
"hmph, piss off"
Peter slammed his book shut in frustration, which ended in waking him up. Peter wasn't very calm. Normally, he was all over the place. Always worrying about something. He always stayed by James any time he could. Poor kid wasn't very independent.
"I can't do this! How am i supposed to pass transfiguration?" Peter said in horror and defeat.
"Like this." James tapped his wand lazily, and peters quill started to float like a flying bird.
"Ugh, that's not fair!" He whined.
James had his feet propped up on his desk, swiveling slightly in the office chair.
"Pete, you just gotta put your mind to it, that's all.""Or, If you become as charming as i am, you won't need school." Sirius added. Remus had forgotten he was in the room. That said, he was putting on eyeliner he had stolen from Lily, and was out of view.
"Sirius, you're inbred." Remus added, a smirk appearing on his face. Well, it was more of a grin.
Sirius gasped and turned around, the dress flowing at his feet. He looked so graceful in it, Remus thought he pulled it off more than Professor Mcgonagal.
"I am not inbred, i just happen to have parents who are...related."
"Sirius, mate, that's inbred." James stifled a laugh.
"Well i'm better-looking than all of you. At least i have that girl in Ravenclaw swooning over me."
Remus scoffed. Classic Sirius, never wanting to accept what was right in front of him. How could he? Even the great city Troy fell. The "Noble House of Black" would eventually do the same.
"What, Remus?" He spat.
Remus pursed his lips and shook his head gently, looking away. "Nothing."
"Yeah, okay. Well, are we doing this or not?"
The girls arrived shortly after that. Lily had been dressed like a cat, Marlene was a hippie, Mary was Daphne from "Scooby doo", and Dorcas was Barbie.
As you could've probably guessed already, James was fawning over Lily. Remus had thought of that earlier and laughed. Well, who wouldn't? Lily was gorgeous. The black dress, sun-kissed hair, it was all mesmerizing.
Students were permitting to walk the grounds at night and go into other common rooms on Halloween, but first, a pit stop to the teachers.
Minerva was horrified at first, as planned but soon warmed up. Albus was laughing, laughing so hard he needed a tissue. Remus didn't think he ever saw him like this. Flitwick was stunned, and Slughorn was just impressed. He patted Remus on the back and laughed.
The rest of the night was spent in the Gryffindor common room.
a/n: guys... i hate to do this but i'm going to have to make a part two. i don't normally make chapters this long because it takes me longer to put them out, but the other one will come out in the next few days i swear!
