Y/N: "I still don't understand why I'm here exactly, I thought you didn't need me as a bodyguard anymore. Now that the whole Morax-killing threat had been dealt with and all?"
Ningguang: "I suppose I did infer that back then, didn't I. But no matter, whilst I don't feel as if anything will occur here, it is still nice to have you back aboard the newly renovated Jade Chamber: like you used to back then, during your training with me."
Y/N: "It has been a while since I was last up here, I suppose."
Ningguang: "Indeed. And also, it makes for quite a nice cover story to have you here and able to watch this performance. This will be your first time seeing an opera from Yun-Han Opera Troupe, correct?"
Y/N: "... For all I know, this is probably my first time watching any opera at all."
Ningguang: "I see. Well, I can assure you that the Troupe in charge of this particular play are more than experienced in their craft. In fact, the one directing the Troupe, Ms. Yun Jin, has my full confidence. One of the reasons why I decided to invest into her Opera Troupe in particular. That and elegant art forms like these deserve to be passed down to future generations."
Y/N: "Oh, I think I remember you mentioning Yun Jin before... Oh, right! She was the one you said you were going to talk to about a performance of Osial's defeat, right?"
Ningguang: "That is correct, yes. She has since agreed to aid us in this regard, but we are still working on the script, and she the movements of her dance. For it to truly affect the hearts of the people, it must be a masterpiece with no equal. And then your efforts during such a battle will truly be recognised, and those that deem you a villain with no proof will not have nearly as much sway as they do currently."
Y/N: "I still think it'd be easier on everyone if I just left... you don't have to go through all this, just for my sake."
Ningguang: "Nonsense! You were willing to throw your own life away for the people of Liyue, be they friend or stranger, the least we can do in return is guarantee that your legacy is not tarnished by those who refuse to look at the present and only look towards the past."
The atmosphere around us seemed to be shifting, as if the anticipation of all the other visitors upon the Jade Chamber was building to a climax. Currently I was loitering within the shadows, around the entrance to the Jade Chamber rather than sitting down at any of the seating. This was so as to avoid attracting too much attention to myself. Although Ningguang saw it upon herself to approach and converse with me whilst she waited for the start of the performance.
I believe she mentioned not wanting to be surrounded by the smooching higher-ups of society who were already up to their neck in alcohol, but I couldn't help but think that she was probably also just doing this to provide me some company. These past couple weeks have been quite lonely. Although I may have always had Hu Tao by my side, to be ostracised from the general public still left me feeling... well... feeling like I wasn't wanted around by most others.
