The atmosphere around us seemed to be shifting, as if the anticipation of all the other visitors upon the Jade Chamber was building to a climax. Currently I was loitering within the shadows, around the entrance to the Jade Chamber rather than sitting down at any of the seating. This was so as to avoid attracting too much attention to myself. Although Ningguang saw it upon herself to approach and converse with me whilst she waited for the start of the performance.
I believe she mentioned not wanting to be surrounded by the smooching higher-ups of society who were already up to their neck in alcohol, but I couldn't help but think that she was probably also just doing this to provide me some company.
