The Best Year!

Chapter 12

Jo and I haven't talked for weeks. I think my mom know something's up. She keeps asking me how Jo is doing and I just tell her I don't know or why don't you ask his mom. One day my mom asked me if I was going to go to Jo's end of the year pool party. I told her if all of the girls want to go then ya I'll be there. That made me start thinking about the party. I really didn't want to go but if I got a really cute bathing suit then I would have to go.

So I called Sara and told her "We are going bathing suit shopping because I know I'll end up having to go to the pool party."

Sara said "That's my girl show if off. Do you want me to call up the other girls?"

"No I got it."

We hang up and I called all the other girl but only Bell and Nevaeh could go on such short notice. The four of us meet up at the mall and stated looking for bathing suits. Sara ended up getting a bright pink bathing suit with sliver straps that cross in the back on the top and tie on the sides of the bottom. Bell found a dark blue, light blue, dark green, and light green bathing suit with black straps. Nevaeh got an all red bathing suit; even the straps are red. I ended up with the cuties purple and gold bathing suit. It's trimmed and the straps are the gold parts. The purple has a glittery look to it.

When I got home my mom told me I was helping Jo plan the pool party.

"What! No I will not help him." I told my mom

"Yes you will and it's because of remarks like that is to why you have to help him."

"But mom we don't get along anymore."

"I know that's then other reason I'm making you help. Are family's are close so you two need to get along."

"Fine mom I'll help with the stupid party but I'm telling you now I will never get along with him again."

"That's fine honey just as long as you help."

Then next day was a weekend so I had to go help Jo. As soon as I got  there I told him that this didn't mean we were friends again and he seemed to under stand.

"So what do you want to do?" I asked him

"I was thinking you could help me come up with a theme."

"OK well we need to do something with all white light. In the trees, around the deck, and anywhere else we could put them that's safe. We also need some tiki torches and beach balls. I was thinking a bonfire by the beach theme."

"Ya I like that Rose. We could even have a bonfire on the side of the house and put some chairs around the fire."

I went on "Ya and maybe we could get some ocean sensed candles and some sand to put around the pool but not right beside it were it would get in the pool. We could also make a trail with the sand and tiki torches to the bonfire from the pool."

"Ya I love the idea and we could get some sea sells to put around the place." Jo told me

"We could get buckets to put the candles in and put sand and shells on the tables with them."

"We could also get some of the nucleus things."

"lays?" I asked Jo

"Ya! We need to get started on this Rose." I agreed and the next day I took Jo shopping for decorations. It wasn't a great idea to bring him along. It's not that we fought. Its just that we had a good time together. He also doesn't know how to stick to a budget. He would just grab whatever he wanted like he was a little kid. We still had a great time. We also got everything we said we needed even the sand which Jo carried. When we got back to his house we decided that we could work on it tomorrow because it was a Sunday we would have some free time.
