As Loralei unpacked her bags, she felt so embarrassed about what happened. She knew that her 1st impression she made one everyone was on the floor defeated by a flying basketball from some cocky jock.
She just hoped that everyone would forget that moment and move on. Especially since tomorrow would be her 1st day of classes. As she unpacked she was reminded of all the old memories in her home.
Some good while others not so much. But this was a fresh start! Somewhere she can start new and let people see the real her. She kept telling herself that in hopes that it would come true, just like she always help crystals in her pocket for good luck.
For a while, she thought good luck wasn't true but she realized that this school was good luck. A place where she can escape. Only until she met him~
After all the unpacking and the decorating. She went downstairs to the kitchen. The dorm house was separated from Boys and Girls. Boys dorms were on the right of the building while Girls were on the left of the building but in the middle was the hangout space, but the students just called it the courtyard.
In there was the kitchen with various drinks and snacks and a bunch of seats and couches in front of the TV (which was monitored by the staff members and only allowed during certain hours.)
As she walked down the stairs into the main area, she couldn't see anyone there. Only the person she wanted to see the least.
The Basketball boy~
"Ah, your the girl from earlier aren't you! Well, I don't believe I formally introduced myself. I'm Zeke."
He held out his hand but Loralei just looked away and proceeded to fill up her glass with water. He said,
"Lovely conversation~"
"I don't want to have a conversation with someone who embarrassed me on my 1st day."
"Oh, I didn't embarrass you."
"yes, yes you did."
"It was just an accident new girl~"
As Loralei started to walk away, Zeke started to panic as he grabbed her arm. He said,
"Wait! ... I- uh. I'm sorry ok"
"I think it's too late for that."
"Just~ let me show you around the school tomorrow ok? Make it up to you."
Loralei thought about it for a second as she took a deep breath. She turned around to look at him and he was dressed in a yellow tank top and grey sweat pants. He has headphones around his neck and a goof smile. He had dark skin with white hair, and pastel yellow eyes full of wonder.
"Fine~"
"Great! See you tomorrow new girl."
"Stop calling me new girl."
"Then what do you want to be called?"
"I would like to be called my name. It's Loralei by the way~"
"Loralei~ nice."
As he walked away Loralei said,
"Wait, where did you say you were from again?"
"Oh, um I didn't."
"Oh, well I was just curious that's all. I'm from Hell Province."
"Yeah, I assumed that with your style but uh,"
He hesitated for a moment until he said,
"I'm, from Solaria."
"Solaria huh?"
"Yep! Solaria. Well, see you tomorrow Loralei."
Loralei thought the conversation they just had was a bit strange, but alas he was the 1st person to talk to her. She's never had a conversation with someone her own age before.
She would then go to her dorm studying every detail of that conversation because for some odd reason,
something didn't seem right with him~
