Loralei's eyes widened. She felt so embarrassed and shocked. She pulled he hands back right away and covered her face.
"I'M SO SORRY I-"
"Woh hey calm down it's ok."
He said in a calm voice smiling. He grabbed her wrists and pulled is away from her face. He stared into her deep red eyes as they were revealed. He said,
"This is kinda where the students store the good stuff if you know what I mean."
Loralei looked confused and he continued.
"Well here try some..."
Zeke handed her a can off of a shelf on the wall. The can say Mystery Potion~ but it was clearly alcohol.
"I'm not old enough to drink~"
"Well, I know that~ just try some."
Loralei looked at it as she cracked the seal.
"It smells aweful~"
As Zeke took a drink of his he said,
"Yep and it tastes even worse."
"Then what's the point of drinking it?"
"You'll see."
(4 Cans Later)
"BAHHAHAHA!"
"Why are you laughing!"
"Your just so funny Zeke hahaha."
Loralei had four cans sitting next to her while Zeke only had one. She was a laughing mess and clearly wasn't in a rush to go home.
They were sitting on the bottom of the closet floor. Loralei's legs were on Zeke as her back was pressed up against the door. His head was pressed up against the wall while his hands rested on her calves.
"I can't believe it's only been a month since I came to this school."
"heh~ be too. I'm glad I met you."
Loralei smiled and said,
"I'm glad I met you too. I've never been out of the house much before this. I've always done what my parents wanted or told me to."
"Like what?"
"You really wanna know?"
"Only if you wanna tell me~"
"Well, where to begin."
Loralei took a deep breath and gave him the quick version of the story.
"Well my mom Apple, she's the leader of the Crimson Puritans but before that, she was second in command to Kyron her boyfriend, which she used killed to take his place. My mom then sent a war on the castle of Hell Province trying the kill Tori and Enchanted because she hated halflings or whatever. She succeeded but at the cost of her own life blah blah blah. Then my dad Roman, the son of General Tori, brought her back to life and then spent the next fifteen years plotting to get the kingdom back. To do so they had me, used me for everything they wanted to do. Told me that they would finally love me if I helped them with one last mission. I foolishly did~ I then became an undercover servent for the two kings, helped my parents get inside access to their house to kill them. Which for the record I didn't know. BUT once I found out that they were going to kill them I stopped them. Now my moms in a sap thingy and my dad escaped leaving me once again..."
Zeke's eyes widened. He looked at her and said,
"Wow."
Loralei smiled and said,
"Yep! So that's why I'm here. Surprise~"
"That's um... wow."
"Yep... now you tell me something. I don't want to feel left out."
Zeke hesitated for a moment but then he said,
"I'm not actually fully from Solaria..."
"Huh?"
"I'm not even sure why I'm telling you this because you might kill me heh."
"Why would I kill you? I would never hurt anyone~"
"Your mom would..."
"Because she runs the Crimson Puritans?"
"Well... yeah."
"Apple might have been my mother but she was never my mom. It took me too long to realize that... I have and want nothing to do with them now... but how would that relate to you?"
"Well, I'm a halfling."
"I had a feeling."
"Really? I thought I kept it hidden well."
"No you do but usually people from Solaria have darker eyes and blonde hair not white~"
"I suppose your right. My dad is connected to the primal source of light but my mom is connected to the primal source of Ice. Don't ask him how they met haha."
He laughed and she said,
"Haha, I won't. That's an odd combination."
"Eh, we make it work. My parents arent together... it's um..."
"Complicated."
"Complicated."
They both said at the same time. Loralei said,
"I get it. I've never told anyone those things before."
"Same here."
They looked at each other and felt completely safe. Their flaws became perfections in the eyes of each other. Zeke grabbed Loralei's hand to pull her up. As they stood up they never let their eyes break contact.
Zekes hand slid to Loralei's waist. As they could hear the music in the distance, Zeke whispered
"Follow me."
