Summer's Pov

"We don't have anything figured out! I can't ask you to move that far, how would you get a job? Where would you live? I can't ask you to up and leave your family and friends just because I did." Diamond's voice covered my arms in goosebumps.

Or maybe it was what she was saying.

I don't know. I hit the blunt again and took a deep breath after releasing the smoke from my lungs. She was worried about all the wrong things.

"For as long as I can remember, I've been living for everybody else. My parents. My sister. My friends. I just wanna do something for me for once." I said and handed the blunt to Diamond as she shifted nervously next to me.

"And I want you, Diamond. I don't care that I'm a thousand miles away..."

"But I care." She frowned. "I don't think I can do the long distance thing...I don't want lose you after I just found you but..." Diamond looked down as she smoked to avoid my sad eyes.

"It doesn't have to be long distance forever though...just until I find a job closer to you. And I'll figure out the living situation on my own. If you don't want that though..."

"You'd move to New York for me?" She asked in disbelief.

I nodded and put the ash tray under the bed since we were done smoking. When my eyes and attention were back on her, she blushed a deep scarlet color and rubbed the back of her neck.

"I want you to be my first...everything." I whispered the last word in case it was too much for her.

Diamond melted right in front of me.

She leaned in and kissed me softly, making my stomach erupt with butterflies.

If she keeps kissing me like that, I'd move anywhere she wanted me to with her. After a minute of our lips and tongues dancing together in harmony, she pulled away and stared deep into my soul.

My heart fluttered.

"What about your family?" She asked like I knew she would. I wanted to roll my eyes. I wanted to groan and avoid the inevitable conversation but I climbed under the covers and reached for her to join me instead.

I don't talk about my parents a lot because I hate them. I hate them with everything inside of me.

"I want to leave them behind. Ana was my only family." I said, biting my lip to keep it from trembling.

Diamond kept her eyes on me as she rubbed my back. It was sweet and soothing and it made me want to talk to her. So I kept going.

"Before Ana, my parents were cruel. I mean, after Ana came, things didn't get better either. They're bible thumpers who think they know everything." I sighed and ignored the bitter taste they always bring when I talk about them.

"They were physically, emotionally and verbally abusive to me growing up. They treated me like a slave and when Ana came, everything changed. I thought we were gonna be a happy family now that they had the daughter they wanted since it obviously wasn't me. You know?" I swallowed hard and wiped my eyes quickly.

"But then she got sick and somehow it was my fault. They paraded my sick sister around like a charity case, getting money from so many people, they didn't have to work. So they took trips. A lot. Ana was so sick sometimes, and they didn't want deal with it. So they made me take care of her and I'll never forgive them for abandoning her when she needed them the most." I couldn't stop myself from crying so I didn't try.

Diamond wrapped her arms around me and let me pour onto her shoulders and I swear, I have never been so connected to another person who wasn't Anastasia.

She held me tight and didn't let go.

"Wow, I'm so sorry Summer. I hate that happened to you. You're worth so much more than that. And Ana being used for money, that's so fucked up. If you're going to go through that with your parents again I don't want you to go back." She searched my eyes deeply. My stomach filled with another swarm of butterflies.

"I mean, I don't have a lot. I'm living in an apartment that's basically crumbling under me. I can't even call it an apartment, it's pretty much a room with a counter top, oven, and toilet... honestly, it's kinda embarrassing. But I'm willing to be embarrassed if that means you're safe... my feelings for you are becoming so deep so fast Summer. I couldn't live with myself knowing you're being tortured at home." Adoration flooded my veins and the feeling was so intense, I had to look away.

"No, that's okay. I might not have ever been in a relationship before but I know that's a recipe for disaster. I like you a lot too. Like...a lot, a lot. And I want us to work."

She smiled and touched my cheek.

"You are so pretty." Diamond said, biting her lip. My insides tingled and I couldn't wipe the wide grin from my face.

Before I could say thank you, we were kissing and then I was being straddled. My heart crashed against my chest.

"Summer, I'm really sorry I left the way I did." She said sincerely.

I smiled at her rosy cheeks.

"Don't do it again."

"Mmm, I won't. Can I make it up to you?" The smirk on her face told me she already knew the answer without me saying a word.

I nodded shyly.

Diamond helped me strip out of my clothes slowly and then leaned down and kissed my neck softly. Goosebumps traveled up and down my body quickly, hardening my nipples. We kissed briefly before she took her time driving me up a wall with her warm mouth wrapped around my nipples.

My hand fell in her hair as she kissed her way lower.
